  1. Doubtful... I expect people are seeing blue too much. This really depends on what this low pressure system does, we have been here many many times before and the direction hardly ever favours the uk except in rare occasions
  2. BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG All **** night with neighbours who were too lazy to shut a gate properly. I was tempted to do it by myself but that meant walking up an alley, getting soaked for someone else's lazyness
  3. Which is what I said would happen, it happens time and time again! Why I don't know This is looking like another mid/northern affair, I feel for you southerners
  4. Something most people haven't realised is the models tend to overdo the uppers, on many occasions deep 850's such as these have been pushed further away from our shores back across europe nearer the time. Sometimes we've expected -10 and got -4 instead
  5. I can't remember that many convective snow showers from uppers of -2, many great falls have been between -8 and -10. Unless you want a sleety north sea mix
  6. This! And -5 uppers isn't that good, -10 gives a more accurate telling for snowfall
  7. But Steve how many times has this been shown on the models in previous spells, it very rarely happens. At most it moves off to the east, or fills in situ. I just don't see that happening tbh. Look what happened last time! Low pressure forecasted to dive into france, instead it moved to the east and it rained
  8. That's exactly what I was looking at, apart from the GFS (Even that looks iffy) I don't see next week as a particularity great cold spell, it's either way to slack or with a low pressure system slap bang over us and south westerly winds
  9. I saw the same and its not just that forecast either but they have also mentioned it on twitter with model'd charts
  10. Maybe, but everything is way to slack allowing milder air to intermix... Can't see all the excitement personally! Would rather have a siberian high pushing deep cold air in from the north east
  11. BBC Forecasts going for coldest spell in two years? Possibly following the models then
  12. That's the problem living in this part of the country, we rely on north easterlies really and -10 850's. From what I've seen of the models it looks pretty slack to me, with not much chance for streamers!
  13. Looking good so far, this happened in some pretty decent previous winters, correct?
  14. Out of all these years of model watching, this winter is turning out to be the worst. At one point every model was giving a different outcome! Thankfully I don't put much faith in them anymore, including the met's
  15. For decent streamers I tend to look for -10 850's
  16. Where's this kent streamer then? Been dry all day
  17. Hi Fergie.... I notice some have been looking at models re: possible snow accumulations Saturday night/Sunday into EA/SE. Is this regarding back edge showers or streamers in from the North Sea? Thanks
  18. I've seen some forecasts on netweather regarding snow showers saturday night into south east england, but nothing on the beeb.... Any updates on this?
  19. Hi Nick F, Merry Christmas to you No sign of snow showers on the latest national forecast re:SE Saturday-Sunday. What time are you expecting these to filter in? Any models to show this? Thank you
  20. Great! Thanks Daniel, still some time to go though, lots of changes after the big day
