  1. Chance I drove through it, nice to see even if dangerous
  2. A chilly air today with dense fog in places, nothing like last year
  3. Last year we didn't have any frost, it was that bad! As for BG, not one of my fans, changes his forecasts weekly then says "Our forecast was pretty much spot on"
  4. I saw even more storms the other day and some looked to pack a wallop Looking forward to this winter that's for sure
  5. Problem is with the MetO is their computer data is fixated on Climate Change and Global Warming, so basically they should have two types of modelling, one with it added and one without.
  6. Just say you don't have a damn clue, just stop forecasting! The problem is with the met, all their models have Climate Change & Global Warming data entries, which is why they get it so wrong for so often. I've told them this many times on Twitter
  7. Just one blast of winter snow can paralyse the country, let alone a very cold winter. What does a cold winter actually mean anyway? Cold for a week, months?
  8. I know we have all those lovely charts to see, but what personal experience have you noticed from this year to last? For me I've seen more fog, a lot more fog with some areas being so dense I had to slow right down. This year so far has also been a lot calmer, last year was already setting up to be a very windy affair and this year nope, just a bit of wind. It also feels a lot warmer but that may be due to more blue skies and sunshine with winds more up from the south. Last year's summer was no way as good as the one we just had, this summer was lovely! Oh and Thunderstorms, there were so many awesome storms about this year in a more southern quarter compared to last, with some of the best strikes I've seen this year!
  9. I could be wrong but there seems to be a lot less snow over NE,NW parts of the USA this year compared to last. Whereas there is more snow over many parts of Europe compared to last?
  10. And then another weather factor someone found which may or may not affect the weather ahead.. First it was Solar Index, Then Stratospheric Warming now it's the OPI
  11. Improve it? HAH! They've been trying to improve it for years.
  12. He was forecasting a mild winter EVERY year, the m o d e r n winter to be more precise! So he gets it right once as his dice finally rolled a 6. He didn't forecast any of the cold snow periods we had or the 2010 freeze up
  13. To be honest, I don't think it will be anything last year... I'm going for snow this winter
  14. A Polar Vortex hitting the USA, but what about if it comes down in towards Europe instead
  15. Mild or slightly above average temps are easier to forecast, simples
  16. Easier to forecast mild/warm than it is a freezing cold winter, that's for sure
