  1. No charts posted, can you explain if that's good or bad as some of the readers don't know much about shortwaves..
  2. But isn't it the case with the GFS that during many cold spells it's tried to force a high pressure out the way, way to easily I might add?
  3. Atleast it will be festive, I'd take a covering any day if only light. Last winter we didn't get one frost, that was seriously bad
  4. You've got to laugh at some of the comments on TWO, nobody knows what is going to happen, it could go either way. So Andy's prediction is even a push
  5. Don't forget that the jet is also a forecast by a model(s), they can be both too strong or not strong enough and also positions can be inaccurate.
  6. I put my guarantee it will look nothing like that on the day as UKMO fail at long range low pressure's diving into europe through UK
  7. In all the times I've seen the UKMO show that situation it has never happened in winter as nearer the time the low is over france and high pressure slacker winds are over the UK. I think it's a model issue with the UKMO it self
  8. I have, 2010 was one of those times... There was a battle with every model at how and when the cold spell would end! Some even showed us such events the uk would've been buried under many feet of snow (South East)
  9. Had my first frost last night and more dense fog, completely different than last year! Feels more like winter
  10. Hey all here's my forecast for the next three months, some cold interludes intermixed with mild and rain.
  11. Chance I drove through it, nice to see even if dangerous
  12. A chilly air today with dense fog in places, nothing like last year
  13. Last year we didn't have any frost, it was that bad! As for BG, not one of my fans, changes his forecasts weekly then says "Our forecast was pretty much spot on"
  14. I saw even more storms the other day and some looked to pack a wallop Looking forward to this winter that's for sure
  15. Problem is with the MetO is their computer data is fixated on Climate Change and Global Warming, so basically they should have two types of modelling, one with it added and one without.
  16. Just say you don't have a damn clue, just stop forecasting! The problem is with the met, all their models have Climate Change & Global Warming data entries, which is why they get it so wrong for so often. I've told them this many times on Twitter
  17. Just one blast of winter snow can paralyse the country, let alone a very cold winter. What does a cold winter actually mean anyway? Cold for a week, months?
  18. I know we have all those lovely charts to see, but what personal experience have you noticed from this year to last? For me I've seen more fog, a lot more fog with some areas being so dense I had to slow right down. This year so far has also been a lot calmer, last year was already setting up to be a very windy affair and this year nope, just a bit of wind. It also feels a lot warmer but that may be due to more blue skies and sunshine with winds more up from the south. Last year's summer was no way as good as the one we just had, this summer was lovely! Oh and Thunderstorms, there were so many awesome storms about this year in a more southern quarter compared to last, with some of the best strikes I've seen this year!
  19. I could be wrong but there seems to be a lot less snow over NE,NW parts of the USA this year compared to last. Whereas there is more snow over many parts of Europe compared to last?
