    Was a nice sunny morning, but has now clouded up and is overcast, this will probably last all day now, and maybe most parts of tomorrow morning (Should have got up earlier to enjoy the sun) oh well.

    Heavy thick black clouds looming in the West, could be in for a showery afternoon.

    Thanfully the radar shows a distint back edge to this rainband, so things should be drying up soon, and if you get up early enough tomorrow you should see a bit of sunshine - before the shower clouds come in to hopefully produce some beefy thundery showers. Todmorden, not far north of Rochdale.

    Rain, rain and more rain, it's been on and off all day, but early evening has started to set in, and is now pretty heavy.

    The met office have been pretty quick to take thier severe warnings off for parts of the country, I'm still experiecing pretty strong gusts of wind, although I think we're over the worst of it now, from a North West point of view.

    I got a shower like that this afternoon at approx. 1:30pm. It was a complete torrential downpour with severe gusts of wind, fantastic weather!

    Well there's no reports of snow falling from this band pushing up from the South, so unless things change I won't be holding out too much optimism for snow tonight.

    Light snow flurries on and off all day here, nothing sticking and nothing to write home about. Shame it's only light because the winds picking up and there would have been potential for blizzards.

    Well parts of Huddersfield and Sheffield are reporing snow falling, maybe it's very localised, not sure

    Got a brief period of light snow @4:30 , mainly sleety didn't stick the ground was too wet, and not cold enough, stopped after 45mins.

    Call a national state of emergency - Radio5 live's just had a report of snow falling @ Stanstead. Probably a brief flurry! - aberdeen had blizzards this afternoon

    Very dark clouds approaching from the east could be some activity in a few mins, but the suns in the west so it's making the clouds appear very dark and threatening, hope we get a snow shower

    The clouds are really darkening to the east, so I expect we may see a light snow shower here in a few mins, probably the one Leeds got an hour ago, fingers crossed

    Very similar conditions here also, was hoping for a little bit of light snow from the 2pm radar but it's fizzling out on the 3pm radar, so just feels freezing!

    Aww I was hoping to get a bit of that snow in Leeds, but the 3pm radar shows it grinding to a halt and almost fizzling out, so I won't hold my breath. :cry:

    Welcome to NW durhamsnow - you will certainly be living up to your name over the next week, your in a favoured spot, allready you are having snow, one of the first areas to be witnessing snowfall at the start of this upcoming cold spell. Gloriously sunny in Oldham today, not an ice crystal in sight.

    The 11pm radar had red colours in it, denoting maybe thundershowers and probably heavy snow? You should be getting this now, unless it's fragmented very quickly.

    I've got my hands together praying that, that severe looking low coming down from Scotland pretty damn quick, doesn't disintergrate too much, if it doesn't then we may be in for some pretty intense stuff.
