    Small but noisy storm, shortlived near/above us just now. Beautiful heavy summer rain now, still very hot and with sunshine at the same time. It's been years since a hot summer thunderstorm like this. Everything very hazy above so hard to make out anything but I can still see areas of convection bubbling up.

    Couple of rumbles here after what I think was some whale's mouth structure passed directly over. Heavy rain now. Not seen any lightning as mostly staring at computer hoping power does not go off - am in the middle of a huge file back up job. EDIT: strikes in local area, distant but huge crack of thunder that made the house/windows creak here. Storm is picking up somewhat over Manningtree area by the looks of lightningmaps.org

    Finally some rumbles here, but it is quite dark for a summer morning for a change. The rain will do the garden good.

    First rumble here, rain falling, all windows open trying to get some cooler air in. Grey and overcast so nothing of note to see really as yet.

    I'm not far from Blessed Weather - sharp little storm passed through our area, torrential rain, some hail mixed in, gusty wind, lightningmaps.org showed a strike only a few hundred yards away (thankfully not out walking round there at the time!) Once rain the had passed, lots of steam coming off building and car roofs, bright sunshine now and the back end of the storm cloud heading into the distance.

    Awoken by lightning and thunder, busy little electrical storm with a lot of lighting high up and behind cloud. Some nice forks as storm moved off, one heavy thunder rumble that shook the ground but was a fair distance away. Sharp heavy shower as well. Slowly moving north but a short while ago lightningmaps.org showed a lot of the UK covered in current or echoes of strikes, quite an outbreak.

    Some storms currently around Switzerland with a spell of warm weather. Unfortunately missed some nice cloud structure and rainbow upon arrival. A day or so later I managed to capture a downburst/very localised rain shower in the valley (Chateau d'Oex/Pays d'Enhaut). As it advanced, I could hear the rain roar, so to speak. A cool thing to see. Currently hearing thunder as I write but it isn't establishing and a lot of rain/mist around.

    Powerful little storm here now, good hail accumulation, pushing through the area quite fast, not much rumbling and lightning but certainly making itself felt! Pics to follow

    Rumbles here, preceded by heavy, no, torrential rain at times (I think the gutters have overflowed). Sporadic flashes as well. I was a bit too late to chase and this rain doesn't help with photography so staying put as working tomorrow. Still raining.
