  1. Getting very active around Scarborough now., This was the shower that developed overhead while I was mowing the lawn and moved North. Enjoy the show - still waiting here. I feel a bit like Pit......
  2. Something has just developed over the Humber and is coming this way - well maybe slightly to the west, but it is growing.... Going out to take a quick gander.
  3. Managed to mow the lawn! Shower developed overhead but moved North before anything fell out of it and is now producing sferics North of here. Looks quiet to the south and east so will probably remain dry now. Good news for the pop festival a few miles to he east of here. Katy Perry anyone?
  4. Looking good for Sheffield area now, which is very promising going forward today for more storms. As last night's front clears away into the N Sea, it looks like groups and lines of storms will be developing behind it. I need to mow the lawn at some point today....
  5. Looks like it has just missed Radio 1's Big Weekend at Burton Constable.....
  6. Front arriving here now; just some elevated stratocumulus on it. Maybe a few light precipitation shafts behind the front end... Edit: raining now...
  7. NW of Guernsey looking tasty but strike has just appeared E of Salcombe. A rogue or a sign something is getting going near the Devon coast?
  8. Festival is in Burton Constable, East of Bev. If you stay off the 1079 and keep West and North of Bev you should be alright. Maybe also avoid the A614 from Howden to Brid - beach traffic; it can get really snarled up. One part of me wants it to stay dry for the festival, the other is looking forward to a good storm or two..... We'll see... Muff
  9. Vizzy, not good around here tomorrow, it's Radio 1's Big Weekend and the place is chockers plus tight security after Manchester. I would try and keep South, the traffic has been bad here this evening....
  10. Hi VS, Originally from Pembrokeshire I always compare where I live now to home when it comes to storms. Scotland was a disaster storm-wise but, when I moved to East Yorks, I thought I had struck the mother-lode! Been good generally here but the last tow to three years haven't been quite so stormy. However, this year has been the worst since moving here 13 years ago! Not sure why as there seems to have been a good number of storms nationwide this year. Oh well, there's always next....
  11. Hi Reef, weird year with seemingly lots of thunder around the country but in Bev we have only had two thunder days this year, which is extremely low even for places like West Wales, not amind East Yorks. Don't look great for today either and the two days we did have we little more than a rumble and flash or two.
  12. Storm to the NW of me appears to be dying on radar and on real time lightning. This was going to be a direct hit, the first one of the year, but alas....
  13. Cell passed to the west and grew and it did so. A good few rumbles from it but nothing seem and only a few spits and spots. Counts as a thunder day though, so that's two now, although the other one was a single flash Thursday night at 23:17 with a distant rumble. Not a great year so far here: well below par.
  14. Heavy rain out of nowhere here now. Maybe a flash/rumble? It would be the first of the year!
  15. Stuff is developing to the SW of here now and there as been a few strikes between here and York. This line is now growing southwards and making progress eastwards. If we have anything, it will be the first time this year, which must be some kind of record!
  16. Heavy rain here now..... Still no storm here this year, which is unusual. Plenty of time left though.
  17. Shower to my NW coming this way against the wind.... No thunder of rain in this spell here....yet! Not confident tonight though.
  18. Only 12 miles offshore so should be easily visible.....
  19. New strikes off Gt Yarmouth: looks like they're going to make it across!!
  20. New storms appearing NE of the main line now. I wonder if there are outflow boundaries kicking off new convection? Interesting developments. I have in-laws down that way so hope everyone stays safe and well - the A3 must be a nightmare!
