  1. I think you will have a very good covering by dawn! If that darker ppn in the N Sea hits you tonight you will be digging yourselves out in the morning.
  2. Mentioned this a while ago, the band is also narrowing over my area now.............. BBC forecast now reflecting this. Looks like N Norfolk will do well tonight!
  3. LOL What I meant was I only see this now - it was not meant to be a forecast. Though I am a bit sceptical about the BBC forceast!
  4. BBC still saying that this sysyem will slide up the N Sea tonight, I only see it struggling to get past Peterborough!
  5. I can see that the heavy ppn in the N sea is just hitting the coast now - it's taking it's time to come inland though.I'm having a lucky afternoon in my location, the lighter snow is only about 5 miles to my SW according to the radar!
  6. Just been out to the garage, and it's surprising how this light stuff piles up! A good inch has fallen in the last couple of hours here in St Ives - amazing!
  7. Have noticed that the band of snow on the Western flank is narrowing very quickly indeed! Was snowing in Swindon earlier, snow line almost back to Oxford now and still moving NE. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is the front fragmenting, the midlands area of snow could be breaking away from the main area.
  8. Not bad actually, still light snow, but plenty of it coming down if you know what I mean. No thick flakes yet, but prospects looking good for the rest of the day. Temp 0.4 and falling.
  9. Radar back working for me - looking awsome in the N Sea. If that lot keeps it's intensity and ends up over EA it will be an epic Sunday afternoon. Is this snow ever going to go North?
  10. Pepping up here just to your South too. I'm radarless at the moment could you give me an idea of how things are looking for St Ives?
  11. Looks like 'Will it rain today' radar is down - anybody else experiencing this? Also Temp on the rise again, up to 0.7C with very light snow - not good.
  12. Bit of a struggle here at the moment, just very light snow falling - struggling to come to anything really. But, what has fallen has settled and prob come to a couple of cm's - it really needs to thicken up!
  13. Glad everyone in the Bristol area had a great snow day! It's also an experience to be relished if you have snow showers coming off the Bristol Channel - I lived in Bristol half my life and only saw this a few times! My area (St Ives in Cambridgeshire) only saw a couple of inches of snow this afternoon - but it's powder snow, that's not bad for one of the driest places in the UK. Good luck for Sundays snow, looks like we are going to get alot in the East.
  14. Have done quite well out of this sysyem in St Ives, a few inches of snow so far with Temps around -1.5C this afternoon - not bad. Sunday sounds interesting, if it verifies. it will be a great snow weekend!
  15. According to BBC forcast, looks like the North Sea snow machine is going to join in the festivities this weekend - this is getting good!
  16. Glad about that TEITS the light snow to our West looks like it's developing too!
  17. Hmmmm, The smear might be moving East, but it's also raising the Temps - currently 1.1C here and slowly rising. If this keeps up we will be looking at light sleet!
  18. Things have got very interesting tonight! Like TEITS I'm not surprised at this downgrade this evening, and will wait to see what actually happens in our region on Friday. As a point of interest, the heaviest one event snowfall that I have seen here in St Ives occured last Feb 1st - we had a good 15cm of snow in one evening, and that came from the North West!!
  19. I think alot of us here in the West of the region are forgetting that the wrap around is still taking shape. I'm seeing signs of the ppn now starting to head SW from the Wash area. Any opinions?
