  1. On the bright side Huntso, it is slightly colder now than it was in the middle of the night. I know because I stayed up until about 4 (I know I'm a fool!) I watched the whole thing muck up, someone said late yesterday on here that this would happen - he really put his reputation on the line, but he was spot on. I think we need to move into the Met office and get rid of the shower that are there!!
  2. Your snow seems to coming out of nowhere! - obviously developing right over you, just as TEITS said.
  3. You are right, snow is developing over your area right now, see Raintoday.com
  4. Glad to see you are still below freezing, here in the East our temps are rising I am already at 2.0c - areas further East are reporting a thaw, beware!!
  5. TEITS have a look at the BBC local situation for our area on the rainfall graphics, they are showing light snow for us now - they really are way off tonight.
  6. Thanks TEITS, that puts everything into perspective for me.
  7. Have a look at this. http://weather.stives-town.info/temperature.asp
  8. Has anyone noted the exploding precipitation in the English channel off of Devon and Dorset in the last half hour??
  9. Can anyone explain what is going on here - I have a Temp now of 1.8C and a dewpoint of -5.8 and falling apparently. I should have sleet at this temp, but it's defo snow flurries.
  10. Just got home from work, and am horrified as to what is going on. There are snow flurries here in St Ives, the local weather station is reading 1.9 C DP -5.7, and rising. I don't think that the DP can be right. There is nothing showing up on the radar anywhere near here, also the snow in the Channel is mostly turning to sleet. Unless something really changes out there I think the BBC will have a ton of eggs on it's face in the morning lol.
  11. Considering we came within 200 metres of missing that on did'nt we do well! I bet Needingworth missed that lol.
  12. That was lucky, had a 10 minute snowstorm from a shower that is JUST over us - I recon half of the falling snow was blown over from March lol
  13. I think we are catching the very tail end of this shower - just!
  14. I was fuming too, I said to Mrs B we need to move!! - West
  15. TEITS do you think we will get the tail end if this shower in St Ives? - I think we just might.
  16. Give this guy some space - he was less than 10 miles from the main snow band on Tuesdat night when it stalled - That would P me off for weeks! lol
  17. You should have been where I was on Tuesday night, the main snow band came within 20 miles of me, stopped, and headed North West - at least you got some of it.
  18. Just missed a big shower here earlier, looks like Huntingdon got it though. Does anyone know why our EA showers are dissapearing fast, whilst other showers are penetrating far inland in other areas and keeping their strength???? TEITS any ideas? - good to see you on our new thread, you are our expert here IMO.
  19. This is the massive shower band that hit Humber and N Lincs late afternoon, gave them a right pasting.
  20. I wish we had an inch of snow! St. Ives (snow no show of England)
  21. Interesting situation in the Wash at the moment, Potential shower activity for N Cambs (the snow starved area). North Lincs just had a pasting from massive shower activity there, looks like an off shoot from that is developing further South in the North Sea. Wish us luck all you snowed in southerners!!
  22. These 'Wash Showers' are really dying a death before thay can get anywhere near us. Me thinks that is because there is little lying snow to beef them up on their journey over land. Further South, there is much more snow cover so they showers are lasting longer - any opinions?
  23. Lets all get on your bus and have an afternoon out to Kings Lynn - there are loads of showers going thru there this morning.
