  1. A shower recently pased through west Norfolk, by the looks of it. TWS - yes, we need something.
  2. Breeze picking-up slightly here, too, and not feeling quite as "close".
  3. I think I follow - figures are not normlly given a - sign as it's convention not to, but it mut have one. Thanks for the link!
  4. So the deeper the negative value, the stronger the capping? Is it possible to have a +ve figure?
  5. I found an article on CIN on the dreaded Wkipedia (sorry) that says: Does this mean that -200 or below (i.e -200 - -400, say) is a strong cap, orthat =200 or greater is?
  6. Well, the CIN for S. London is around -15 to -20, but I don't know how that index works!
  7. NW radar shows some light blue in parts of Essex and Suffolk.
  8. I don't - I'm forecast to have a blue line painted across me!
  9. Yes, I suppose the storms would be in the cold sector. Thanks (I'm learning all the time).
  10. So the line of storms I posted earlier is caused by the cold front?
  11. Wasn't there supposed to be a mid-level trough interacting with the moist, hot plume anyway?
  12. Can any clever person here explain how this straight line of storms has arisen?
  13. I presume that my neck of the woods is less likely to see the plume than further west and north?
  14. I'm afraid I'm nowhere near expert enough to guess at that, Sam. Sorry.
  15. Thanks Paul - I think Jim has enjoyed rather too much of his namesake foodstuff - he's rather heftier-looking than in the '80 when I was knee-high to the proverbial.
  16. That's what made me remark about the CAPE value; 3000 or over even I know is big!
  17. WOW! I thought CAPE values of 2500+ were a North American preserve?
