  1. Thanks for the welcome Jane Louise and it would be nice to get a storm this weekend but... I think this group is an excellent idea too!

  3. It was quite cloudy today until mid afternoon when a few breaks started appearing with a bit of late sun which allowed the temperature to reach 20.7C, though yesterday was warmer at 22.8C with more sunshine than today. As its been quite humid at times the last two days have felt quite muggy and warm compared to the mostly cool and quite wet weather recently. Also we have two dry days in a row! Current conditions: Out Temp: 16.2c Dew point: 13.7c Heat Index: 16.3c Humidity: 84% Wind: 0-4mph (NW) Air Pressure: 1022.9 hpa Max temp today: 20.7c @ 17:10 Min temp today: 15.5c @ 6:22 Rain today: 0.0mm

  5. Down here we almost had an air frost last October when the temp dropped to 0.8C on the 18th then 0.6C on the 19th but we had to wait until the 12th of November when the temp dropped to -2.3C The min air temp here this morning was just 5.7C so a few places could have got close to a ground frost I would have thought.
  6. Wow thats a great pic. I was looking at one that looked very similar from east Devon about that time yesterday evening!
  7. I can remember we were visiting some nearby family in Sidmouth on this day and can remember watching the news sometime in the afternoon as it was too hot to do much outside and the headline was basically that a new record temperature had been reached and also how global warming could relate to this as it was quite a big difference from the old record etc. Then I remember returning home sometime around 5pm and the thermometer that I used then was reading about 33C. I guess it had been slightly higher than that a bit earlier as well. I wish I had actually kept records back then so I could look back and see what the temperature really did. This seems hard to imagine with the last two summers.
  8. Oh dear looks like quite a big event then and its sad when peoples life's get involved like this. I find Extreme weather like this very interesting its just a shame how it can destroy peoples homes or worse. Certainly no mini-tornado <_<
  9. 11. Well Congrats to Tammy! I think I almost had the shock of my life when the test broadcast started! I had left the page open and had forgotten it was open while I was doing other stuff on my pc and then I got a voice saying 'Good Evening Netweather here' I must say the first broadcast was very good!
  12. Hard to decide but I went for number 2 in the end. I like the cumulonimbus picture aswell.
  13. Great pictures and great colours in the sky/ground I love how you can really see the motion of the clouds and the wind in the trees/plants and in a way you actually feel as if you are there yourself
  14. I have to say those are very impressive Paul! think Ill find the camping forecast most usefull
  15. Temp up to 17.8C here after an overnight low of 6.2C at 5:19. Lots of glorious sunshine now with not a cloud in the sky Breeze seems to have picked up a bit in the last hour though. 16. Stats from my Davis weather station for the village Harpford in east Devon Temperature Highest Max: 26.3C (11th may) Lowest Max: 13.1C (16th may) Highest Min: 12.8C (8th may) Lowest Min: 1.8C (2nd may) Mean max: 18.4C Mean min: 8.9C Monthly mean: 13.7C maximums over 25C: 2 maximims over 20C: 12 minimums under 5C: 5 (midnight to midnight) Rainfall Total: 98.6mm Max daily rain: 22.2mm (26th may) Days of rain 0.2m or more: 18 (some of those days may have been dew) Days of rain 2mm or more: 9 Days of rain 20mm or more:1 Wind Max wind gust: 31mph (3rd/26th may) Avg wind speed: 3.1mph An above average month mainly thanks to the very warm first half with two days reaching over 25C and nine over 20C before the 15th. There was almost 100% of maximum sunshine potential from the 6th to the 14th. There were thunderstorms to the south on the evening of the 14th with lightning visible and thunder heard. The 15th -17th were mosly grey cold and wet for the time of year. Then it t remained quite cool with some sunshine and one or two warmer days with not much rain until the 25th. It was then very wet from the 25th with 59.6mm of rain from the 25th to the 29th, some areas had alot more then that. The 30th and 31st were slightly warmer and drier to finish the month.
  17. Hmmm... Im not really sure where to go but I think it will be a bit above average at something like 15.1C
  18. If not a UK weather channel then perhaps a European one?... apart from the language problem maybe Netweather could set one up. Anyways this is netwether.tv
  19. that must have been some sight! Seems a million miles away today...
  20. Im not too sure if that 26C at Exeter Airport was correct. Exeter Airport is now reading 21C as well and i think thats a bit too far to drop. Been an excellent day here though with bright sunshine throughout and a max of 23.3C
  21. Id say this weekend sometime now poss next week for the highest temp but as that is not this week ill say 27.0C Gatwick Saturday although possibly a bit higher sunday/next week. I think we might just get 25C this week also anytime from tomorrow. ill say almost tomorrow and then in the East on Thursday.
  22. I noticed today in a local town there was a tree completely thick with white blossom. Also most of the big trees seem to be coming into leaf down here now, although there are still some bare ones like large ash trees. Smaller trees/hedges are in leaf quite well now.
  23. Some stats from my Davis VP2 weather station: Highest Max: 18.2C (3rd april) Lowest Max: 7.2C (6th april) Highest Min: 8.6C (1st april) Lowest Min: -4.4C (8th april) Highest daily mean: 12.3C (26th april) Lowest daily mean: 2.5C (6th april) Monthly mean: 8.0C Mean max: 12.8C Mean min: 3.0C daily mins <0C: 9 (midnight to midnight) Rainfall: 66.8mm Max daily rain: 18.0mm (29th april) Max wind gust: just 34mph (1st april) Avg wind speed: 4.4mph April was a quite cool munth for here with the mean temp slightly below average and precipitation was slightly above average. also notable that the highest temps were in the first 3 days of the month. There was also quite a lot of days with convective showers around in the afternoon which is pretty normal for april. Some snow fell on the 6th but didnt settle very well here at only 26m asl. but there was a temporary covering on the hills around here.
