hmm... ill think about that advice, I hope people won't mind there no longer being any wind readings from Exeter airport on xcweather etc. :lol: my davis vp2 is by far the best station ive had for measuring wind speed, though of course not nearly as good as the airport ones. but I think it may be hard to find a reasonable price in this country though.

i have to say this thread gave me a laugh! so i think i may have just seen the odd smallest snow grain today. so using the new rules i have to report 30cm of lying snow even in the house :lol:

been cold and grey here all day with temps around 3C with a high of 3.3 at midnight or just after and a low of 2.4 at 5:55am. so a small temp range feeling raw in breeze avg temp so far 2.9C current temp 3.0C wind light and mainly E-NE. rain:0.0mm pressure 1032.2 falling slowly

how about just last year the night of 2nd-3rd december which mainly affected sw england and wales where the tamar bridge (plymouth) recorded a gust of 113mph which i think was more than the storm of 18th jan 2007 which people seem to remember a lot more.

mmm.. oh well its too late for me ive already got a uk version from skyview im not exactly sure why it would be illegal to use a u.s unit in the uk though. and even then i brought it about 1 day before a special offer came out!

mostly clousy with a light to moderate NW wind. temp has risen up to 10.2C now after it was around 8C for most of the afternoon a nice cold min of -4.7C last night with a fery nice frost! :lol: from around dawn high and medium-level cloud drifted in from the NW, with more low-level cloud in the afternoon.

hmm odd... i suppose if youre in a frost pocket area and the wind picks up a bit it could shift the colder air away but i dont think it would happen instantly? or mabe your weather stations just decided its fed up of being cold!

high of 6.4C today (lowest high of winter so far.) sunny, just a few small cumulus clouds and cold wind easing low last night dropped down to 0.4C just after midnight, then rose as more cloud drifted down from the north,then droped down to 2.3C at dawn as cloud cleared. now it is -1.8C outside and nice n frosty!

just had a great little thunderstorm here in east devon the 1st flash of lightning was very suprising as i was just opening my window to let some fresh air in! it was VERY close and the thunder VERY loud about half a second gap in between! then there was about 5 more lightning/thunder wich some of were still very close and seemed to be C-C just after the lightening a very heavy downpour with some hail thrown in and quite gusty winds rainfall rate reached 78.4 mm/h all this quite unusual for november! i just had to retype this because i tried to post a radar image showing the storms as well but it seems that just because its from N-W extra it wouldn't let me so i had to redo the whole thing which was quite annoying
