  1. Hi there yes I suppose I should have resized them but I don't have anything to resize them with. I have been meaning to get somthing and will think about it when I next upload any pics I did think that it looked a bit like a supercell when I was taking the pics but I dont think It was though. Ive just noticed that the writing next to pic 6 should be next to pic 7 sorry about that
  2. Hi all Yesterday evening I decided to go for a walk in the countryside around here. There were some lovely clouds and CB cells around, especially at sunset. Heres some pics I took these first pics were before sunset 1 this small cell with te sun behind it would eventually grow as it came closer and become beautifully back lit at sunset 2 3 view to the north or NNW 4 a bit later the cell was creating a shadow that streched across the whole sky 5 6 that cell a bit later from a different position 7 8 looking NNE (apple trees in the foreground) 9 10 wonderfull. you can clearly see the rain/hail falling from the base 11 12 close up of some nice mammatus forming on the anvil 13 only problem i cant fit the whole cloud in Lol 14 15 16 17 18 19 this one needs flipping Lol enjoy probably some of the best pics ive taken there even though my camera was not the best.. I took way too many images to upload so have tried to pick the best out
  3. there very nice pics  and I wouldn't eat them anyday
  4. I havn't noticed anything down here at all infact the air was quite fresh yesterday. or perhaps its just the norm for Devon! lol I wouldn't have thought Europe gets this smell all the time, just at certain times of year if its to do with agriculture or if the air stagnates in high pressure or an inversion, but im no expert and other people may know better than me. We do of course usually have clean air coming off the Atlantic though.
  5. Wow thanks for all the comments everyone! B) Its amaizing that the camera I took these with fell off the top of a car on dartmoor two weeks ago! infact if anything it works better now!
  6. Thanks Stuart and Shuggee. yes I can remember seeing that on coast too. im sure the sea was very cold! even though it did look a bit tempting  actually there was a smartly dressed lady from the hotel that got to get on the tracter before anyone else and then got driven away in a black 4x4 with blacked out windows on the other side!
  7. Yesterday my mum, dad, brother and I went to Burgh Island in south Devon for the day (only an island at high tide). It was lovely weather and the sea was a fantastic blue colour. I took lots of photos so its hard to pick out the best but heres some for you to enjoy 1. Just arrived - view from edge of car park to Burgh island 2. walking across to the island 3. the Sea Tractor which is used to take people to and from the island when the tide is in (looking back towards the mainland) 4. from the west side of the island, the sea was a very nice blue color. 5. 6. my personal favorite 7. 8. dont fall! 9. 10. from south side 11. the top of the island 12. looking back to the mainland from the top of the island 13. the eastern side 14. opps the tide has come in 15 on the Sea Tractor 16. back across the other side. that didnt work too well bit i dont know how to sort it enjoy hope that wasnt too many pics.
  8. Wow there great some very good pics of wildlife and chesil beach there. like the shower pics too and that looks like it could be a funnel trying to form in pic 14 but it may just be scud
  9. I saw one of the episodes the other night on Discovery channel. Anyway ive found a youtube channel which has lots of storm chasing programs including storm chasers if anyone is interested or wants to catch up on them. ive watched quite a few. opps almost forgot the link! http://uk.youtube.com/user/Gadgetglanman7
  10. well I dont mind a wet summer as long as we get some decent thunderstorms! last year i didnt see a single flash of lightning between february and november! was the worst year for thunderstorms i can remember. as in most years i think well get some decent spells of weather at times even if it is a poor summer overall.

  14. I think the west deserves some snow this time rather than the east pinching it everytime the current forecast shows snow here about 6am but im not going to get too hopefull yet. and i wouldnt be too surprised if it all went east again. it would be best if we all got some!

(as Devon-Nelly said for torbay) I can remember us saying for a joke 'well if its this warm now what will it be like in summer'. oddly enough the UK recorded a new record maximum of 38.5c that summer and we had 33/34c here the same day usually it dosnt get above 30c even in a heatwave here due to cooling sea breezes.
