  1. I can't see the alert icon properly...
  2. Just keep telling yourself this...just 7 more months...
  3. Let me complete the title for you... 50 days to save the world from Gordon Brown
  4. I know yeah. The average temperature in the UK has risen by 0.5c or something like that I think. That isn't enough to completely rule out a very cold winter IMO. 47 and 63 were lucky as every single piece of the jigsaw slotted nicely into place. We will get that luck again some day.
  5. Well it's happened many times before :winky:
  6. Couple of points...It is mid-Spring in New Zealand and the Siberian cold must have travelled a very long way!
  7. The BBC site is awful. Offers absolutely nothing. The new Met Office feature is brilliant, it is slow though but I am sure that these little problems will be soon ironed out.
  8. Yep, the Met Office have issued a yellow, low warning for heavy snow over the Western Highlands as well: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/loutdoor/mountainsafety/westhighland/westhighland_latest_pressure.html
  9. January 2007 for extreme winds. October 2008 for the snow. February 2009 for snow. July 2005 for the Birmingham tornado.
  10. Definitely happening/happened, not sure if it's manmade, but we should take action just in case - better to be just broke than starving, dying and broke.
  11. Day 21 of the drought...and we finally get measurable rainfall! Got 0.3mm today, taking the September total to 13.3mm, and that is where it will probably stay. Remarkably dry.
  12. BBC Weather mentioned it for Thursday morning I think it was.
  13. Day 20 of the drought, now equalling the longest period of no rain back in April 2007. Actually had some drizzle earlier but even that was very faint.
  14. I think this is more of a winter signal update than a proper forecast. They will probably put the meat on this skeleton in November. They have probably already released a full forecast for businesses. I don't really care anyway. What happens happens.
  15. Now had 19 consecutive days with no rain, and if the Met Office forecast is anything to go by, then we will get no rain for the whole of the working week. That would be 23 consecutive dry days and just 13mm for the whole month of September - with just 1.6mm since the 4th, have we been transported to the desert?!
  16. Thankfully the previous 2 summers were wet, otherwise there would be some serious problems.
  17. Day 19 of the "drought", once again a very dull day and it looks like we will easily get to 3 weeks without a drop of rain.
  18. I know, I played football last Saturday, it seriously was like playing on concrete. I would prefer it muddy to concrete-like - adds to comedy value and you are less likely to be battered and bruised!
  19. Now had 17 consecutive dry days and just 1.6mm in the past 23. Looks like we will easily get 3 weeks of nothing, and 4 weeks of nothing significant looks quite possible too. If I get to Tuesday with no rain it will be the longest period with no rain I have ever recorded (going back to Dec 2004).
  20. I feel your pain and annoyance. I don't remember the last time the sun properly came out! Despite the fact there has been next to no rain, bizarrely I bet the sunshine levels are really quite low as well. I just want a good old depression to cheer me up - this is awful!
  21. Looks like another, dull, dry day. We really could do with some rain soon - pond levels are going down fast. Will have to top up the one in the garden as well. Looks like we will easily top 20 days with absolutely no rain.
  22. I don't believe in any of the autumn-winter link rubbish. It is merely hopecasting.
  23. The dry spell/drought will end on 1st Oct with a bang. Why? Because my radar subscription ends!
