  1. It's looking like we could be at risk of frost for the next 5 nights, especially if in a frost-prone area. Gardeners beware!
  2. Snowstorms win, hands down. Least favorite would be Atlantic wind storms.
  3. Cloudy morning, but brighter this afternoon with some nice breaks in the cloud. Top temp 15.1C. Getting clearer as the evening wears on, very pleasant.
  4. Didn't quite make 20C yesterday - got to 19.4C. Another lovely sunny morning, with a low of 3.6C. Temp already shot up to 11C.
  5. Cloud all burned off now and lovely blue skies with light winds. Temp responding nicely, at 16.1C right now, so could make over 20C later this afternoon if the sun continues to shine.
  6. A frost here too with an overnight low of -1.4C. Was not expecting anything, so I was a bit surprised when I peered out of the window and saw a winter wonderland! Currently cloudy but bright, temp 3.1C.
  7. Cold front has gone through, temp fell from 13.1C at 5pm to 6.7C now. Some very light nuisance rain, barely enough to dampen the ground.
  8. Just keep rescuing spawn and you WILL be saving frogs in your area. My tadpoles always seem to disappear after a while despite there being thousands of them. But come June time I often see beautiful minature frogs hopping about in the damp places in the garden, so some survive. My tadpoles all hatched and currently still in the seething black fizzing mass stage of togetherness. The odd one or two are swimming away from the main group, but this will increase over the next few days. Newts now in abundance in the pond - probably in for a good feed of tadpoles!
  9. Nice and sunny here and air much cleaner than yesterday. Bit too breezy for sitting outside, but ok if in the shelter.
  10. Still about 2C cooler here than the same time yesterday. Sky very milky.
  11. Cold night here with a ground frost again. Min temp 1.5C. Sky nowhere near as blue and clear - presumably this is pollution dragged in from continent? However sun lookling sultry and another warm day on the cards.
  12. I think someone looked at weekend weather versus Monday weather, and it turned out that Monday weather truly is better (less likely to be wet) than weekend weather. I think Tuesdays may also have been bettter. What we need is the new weekend to be Mon/Tues!
  13. Sun a bit milky this morning, but sky still looking good for another lovely day. Not as cold last night, perhaps because of the slight cloudiness, with a min of 4.2C.
  14. There was enough light in the sky yesterday at 8.30pm for me to have taken the dog for a walk across the fields. Amazingly light.
  15. Grass frost this morning, white everywhere, but currently 15.9C, blue skies and sunshine. I always get concerned that when we have a really good summer-like period in early spring, we pay for it later with a rubbish summer. Some of our recent wet summers have followed this pattern. Is there any evidence that bad/ wet summers follow springs that are characterized by unseasonably sunny and warm periods?
  16. Gorgeous blue skies again this morning. Ground frost overnight - bit surprised to see white grass when I peered out of the window at 6 this morning. Looking like another stonking day!
  17. Stunning day here from beginnning to end with a top temp of 18.1C. Perfect BBQ weather, virtually no breeze and not so hot it's uncomfortable in the sun. I'd be happy with today's weather all summer long.
  18. Lovely day yesterday, warm and sunny at 14.8C. Misty here at 6 but the sun has won out and we have another sunny morning. Cool though at 2.4C. Looking forward to what looks like another good day.
  19. Ended up being a rather nice afternooon. Some good sunny spells, lots of brightness and a top temp of 12.2C, which felt v nice because there was barely any breeze. I have high hopes for tomorrow and Monday now.
  20. Calm but cloudy and dry here this morning, temp 7.6C. Clouds look more hopeful of breaking up today compared with yesterday, so we get to see the sun. Hoping to have the first BBQ of the year on Monday. No near neightbours, so no-one to annoy with noise or smells.
  21. Bit of a grey one today, but at least we have missed most of the drizzle/rain. Top temp is 11.8C and still rising.
  22. If those charts verify Frosty, it could be a very pleasant week in the south and west of the UK. It looks like most parts of the UK and Ireland will have some settled weather.
  23. You guys high up have done really well for snow this winter! A rather watery-looking sky here with some milky sun. Quite cool at 4.3C. Winds seem to have dropped out, for a while anyway.
  24. Rain now arrived, but so far light and patchy. Bit of a breeze, but nothing yet, of note.
