  1. Nothinghere. Despite clear skies the temp only managed to drop to 1.6C. Now itt's clouded over, temp has increased to 3.1c. If it wasn't for the wind, it would barely feel cold out, just chilly.
  2. Colder here last night too. No exotica here, homemade fish pie and beer all round.
  3. Interesting as the EURO4 doesn't have the Midlands down for any snow today or tomorrow which is a shame because other paramters such as the dew point are well within the snow limits.
  4. Pity a few of those showers currently in Wales wouldn't hop across into England and give us a bit of snow in the west.
  5. Nothing here at 93asl, but surrounding hills are once again white. Soooooo marginal - the story of winter so far in this area.
  6. Despite clear skies and the NW air flow, temp still above freezing at 1.7C. I'm hoping it will cool as the night progresses and the colder air moves in. Might be looking more than a tad interesting on the MO thread ... Let's see what the 18z brings.
  7. Rain all the way here. One oof the striking things for this area about the current cold spell is the complete lack of frost and temps below freezing. I live in a frost hollow, yet temps have stubbornly refused to fall below 0.5C throughout. Even the MetO not-a-forecast only predicts -1 over the next few days and yet the written forecast for the west Mids mentions harsh frosts.
  8. Rain here. From the radar it looks like we are in the centre of the PL at 0245
  9. Is that your desired track or something a bit more 'official'?
  10. Might get something from the polar low if it survives long enough and tracks this way. You never know ...
  11. Ooooh. Did anyone comment on its likely track?
  12. Best snow shower of the day just passed through. Moderate snow (2-4cm/hr) and it has pitched. Typically, now the temperature has dropped back a degree or so the shower supply from the NW seems to have dried up.
  13. A real mix of snow and sleety showers since midnight here. Snowline is annoyingly 20m higher than my house. Taking dog out to enjoy some of the white stuff in the higher fields behind me.
  14. Loads of showers overnight, mostly sleet. Snowing right now though. Snow line starts about 30m up from me. The higher hills such as Clee Hill and the south Shropshire Hilss are completely white though.
  15. Plenty of showers this evening. Some have been snow (which pitched), but most have been sleet. Wasn't expecting to see much this evening, so not disappointed (yet).
  16. Quite a few snow showers here today since about 1100 this morning. Nothing has pitched, but at least it's snow falling from the sky.
  17. I think z is an option nowadays, though it is still the American style rather than British. I always use z, it just reads and looks better I think.
  18. Yep, we had a snow shower from that lot. Passing over very quickly. Looks like some interesting stuff headed towards Notts right now.
  19. Did you see the Midlands Today forecast? Shafali had us down for 11C at 4 this afternoon! Has she been outside in the last coupl of hours? It's been around the 4-5C mark since 10 this morning.
  20. According to GFS data, from Monday until Wednesday next week dew points, wet bulb and 850 temps are favourable for snow for the whole of the Midlands. All we need is some precipitation, and therein lies the potential snag. Edit: just had a couple of snow flurries.
  21. There's chatter on the MO thread of a nice little low zipping down from Iceland through the Irish Sea to give us a good snow dumping on Monday. Meanwhile temp here has now dropped to 4.6 C and it feels very very cold in the wind.
  22. What does the red shaded area on the top far right precipitation chart mean Nick?
  23. Some very squally showers just passed through here. Temp fallen from 9C to 6.5C in past 30 minutes or so. Is the current rain band passing through the second cold front or the first? If it's the second, it's well ahead of schedule.
  24. If you Google Boston web cam and hit earthcam you'll get a live feed. View not too good yet as snow it too heavy!
  25. Still snowing hard in Boston which now looks like being the sweet spot.
