  1. John Hammond on BBC SE Weather still touting for another possible cold spell or BFTE early March! Bless him, good old cold ramper!
  2. I think many would have gone to bed thinking it's all over. Weather never ceases to amaze me!
  3. I think we've had more snow in the last hour than we had in the last 3 days here in Tonbridge!
  4. Don't think I can remember a period where we had such light snowfall for such a long period of time. It's taken since Sunday morning to accumulate about 2cm of snow. The Tonbridge snow deflector was definitely switched on this time around!
  5. Unfortunately, looks like it's fizzling out after going over the North Downs!!
  6. Surely the Iberian heights are a problem when it comes to prolonging the cold spell?
  7. Such a shame. Ideal conditions and sub zero temperatures for lying snow but virtually zero precipitation. Typical!
  8. Just as Met Office forecasts really. They specifically said yesterday that they don't expect heavy snow in SE on Monday.
  9. Interested to know thoughts on why the showers are so light this time around? Why convection rates are so much lower this time? I remember 1987, 1991, 2013, 2018 the showers were extremely potent and deposited at least an inch of snow at a time so accumulations built-up really quickly. So far, this episode has been very disappointing for my area!

  11. Real shame we didn't get lower temperatures (freezing) earlier this morning so more of the snow settled to lower elevations.
  12. Yep, that doesn't really help either. Air temperature is usually a little higher right on the coastline.
  13. Temperature really needs to be -0c or below for snow to settle and not melt. Also, the heavy rain during the night didn't help!
  14. Disappointing for most I think! But, I guess some sweet spots will get a pasting?
  15. Yes, looking at the radar I think the heavier stuff is 10/20 miles East of Tonbridge at the moment.
  16. Temperatures were never going to be low enough for any light snow to settle. Frozen surface required. Same old story lately!
  17. XCWeather showing much lower dewpoints now coming in across East Anglia! Hopefully, they will quickly spread South
  18. Temperature and dewpoint should fall within the next couple of hours But, I'm not sure we are in the sweet spot this time unlike previous events 2013/2018
  19. Updated BBC forecast Susan Powell Still going for significant snowfalls across SE through Sunday Streamers almost anywhere Monday although probably not in SE!
