Seems to be dying out here now. Definitely a nice surprise though. This last month has been incredibly difficult for me as my mum passed away two days before Christmas. So these snow events have really helped to cheer me up a little. Let's hope we have a few more, still plenty of winter left.
Sorry to hear that mate Must be extremely tough to work through that at these times - all my thoughts with you! As you say, fingers crossed for some more pleasant surprises. I get the feeling there may be!

I’m in the Heath and it has settled on the grass, cars and roofs too, particular ones where exposed to wind. However not accumulating any more than what they have now.
Still snowing in though but small flakes again now. 0.7c
Nothing crazy but a very enjoyable day either way!
Same here tbh. Looks like it's beginning to peter out on the radar now too. Nice to see it in action, and hopefully we'll see a proper Wales wide event over the next few weeks. Looking promising for next weekend for cold - fingers crossed for some snow to show up too.

Wow. Thought it was dying of. Full covering all if a sudden and starting to settle on pavements now!

yes i noticed harmonie was spot on with a few events now - so i'll trust it from now on - euro4 has lost the plot altogether
Yeah, have noticed that just completely underplays any ppn at all. Weird how it can change like that!

Anyone know how long this is in for
Looks like in some shape or form through til early / mid evening - assuming it's going to continue to get lighter though and probably wetter close to coasts without too much accumulation!
-
Flakes have got a lot smaller here and while still accumulating on grass / bins / some roofs, not touching pavements or roads - so assuming that won't happen today down this way. Still though, a turn up for the books - only HARMONIE / ECM really signposted this semi consistently. Nice bonus though and the third day of falling snow this year so far for me - given how wet and grizzly this month's been, that's pretty cool!
-
Really heavy here now too! Big flakes too so guessing it's right on the edge of sleet. Lush to watch!

Light grains just started here!

Looking at it, it reminds me of Feb 07 (?). A proper snow-rain event. It managed to stay snowing though between 8am and 7pm or something and caused my sister to be stuck on the m4 for 3+ hours. Washed away yes, but with it sticking around for daylight hours, it was the first really deep snow down this way in about 3 years. Never know, could happen again and snowfalls always seem to happen in small bursts close to each other. More chances hopefully into Feb!

BBC showing snow for us now too.
Snow - sleet - rain for me still but you never know! Sure ICON was predicting 40cm + for the midlands for Thursday so would say it's probably only worth looking at that a couple of days out. But with GFS (snow to rain) and GEM (more like ICON) on board, definitely possible!

You could end up with a couple of hours off and on
Would be awesome that! What radar are you using btw?

According to mine it is and should go on for a while
The western edge of it does seem to have extended out a bit, so you could be right!

Got snow again. Not according to the radar but wind has really picked up so carried on the wind maybe?

Still nothing in Caerphilly. The radar is a wind up!
Whatever I had has just stopped Jay and it looks like this shower's breaking up(the eastern side of it anyway). Half an eye on the main front now, but will probably not make it I reckon.

Well whatever just came down now was pretty heavy. But it's either sleet or graupel

Looks like the front is beginning to move southwards now, so the main bulk of the snow over the Beacons should maybe head south too giving valleys / coastal areas an hour or so of something steady.

Yeah, nothing in Newport yet. Models did suggest it all fizzling away once it reached the coast though, so perhaps it's doing it above us?
Scrap that... we have light snow!

We've had nothing here at all since this morning.. any chance of any snow showers here guys?
One should be with you soon I'd think, unless the Beacons suck out the moisture
Edit: As @andymusic says, aha

ECM liking the idea of an easterly from the weekend! This would be a little chilly...
