  1. A little high for my liking hopefully we get some clearer skies before front arrives.
  2. Indeed ,,, it's going to be interesting to see if that cold stays in place when that front starts moving in early hrs epc for low lying southern counties
  3. Similar to 2010 in some respects , .. it would seem slight shift southwards has really made difference epc for you location mother nature, i'm still not happy about current temperatures across your region. It did feel milder earlier. No snow in Worcester city centre when I visited. See attach.
  4. Just popped into Worcester to do some Xmas shopping, 3 degree sunny , snow all melted . Quite pleasant in the sun, the temperature drop was noticeable as I drove back to Bromsgrove reading 1c . Quite a bit of snow still on the ground skies seems to have clouded over here since this morning Could with it shifting to make way for clear skies before this evening.
  5. I agree , I think BBC/ Mets spot on with this. From experience generally any locations south of Bromsgrove (I.E , Worcester, Gloucester) unless over higher ground don't do well from these setups. Also remember the cold air hasn't been here all that long.
  6. I did have a quick glance at the rainfall forecast map from Met Office. Suggests some heavy rain moving in from the west later into the Midlands, pressure dropping quite a bit. Anyone else's thoughts on this ??
  7. Just thought I'd share our show we had here last night , I did managed to capture some CG lightning with tripod and 30sec Exposure.
  8. Funny you should mention that , even my Acurite weather station from USA is more accurate than the TV Forecast (most of the time) , bit worrying really... Anyway .. back to the topic in hand before mods bombard me, I still think we may see something later on, don't write it off just yet!
  9. Very muggy feeling here too, some light rain and temps of 18c / 81% humidity. Nothing really out of the ordinary yet... Maybe something more interesting later on .. ?
  10. ?? ...Just been watching Midlands Today showing some trees on the ground and a man taken to hospital due to a tree fallen on his car (alive luckily- thank the lord), as well as rail disruption.
  11. Surprised there isn't more interest in this system. Far as I'm aware it's quite unusual to see 60 mph gusts being forecast on the models and on TV forecasts for inland areas epcs the Midlands. ?? Edit: I would also like to add yesterday's system brought quite a number of branches down in the roads and few telephone lines over this way.
  12. Not a hugely impressive system I have to say , I like a powerful Atlantic storm, a lot of downgrades past few days or so. Still a bit breezy..
  13. Just lately I'm very much interested in continental weather and climate, specifically speaking USA/Canada. I understand a little meteorology but find certain topics really quite difficult. How and why is continental weather more extreme ? ,… also following on from this rainfall tends to be more severe even in relatively inland states like Nebraska. A lot of states receive very heavy falls of rain -‘’Rainstorms’’. Even in France when I was on holiday I was surprised at how bad it can get. Why is this when UK is surrounded by sea?. What are the main causes of this, .. High dew points, Temperature ,humid-instable air? ..Or other factors? More interestingly regarding precipitation. Sorry for my bad English, thanks for reading, any feedback much appreciated.
  14. Excellent, this is what I call cold. Still one run though, many changes ahead I think. Trend is looking good.
  15. Looks like the radars picking up some early developments just south of Gloucester at the moment.
  16. Well I wasn't expecting temperatures to be as high as they were forecast today, currently 30c here in Bromsgrove. I'm hoping the fun and games to start late tonight into Tuesday. Anyone elses thoughts on this ?
  17. I think the Lickey Hills will get a pasting later on, like i said before.. anyone located on higher ground have fun! Your in for a decent night.
  18. Temperatures a bit on the high side here 1.2c *sigh* ... I think anyone living on higher ground will do well though.
  19. Light snow here in Bromsgrove. Temp: 0.5c . (Due to low elevation) Just come from South Birmingham and the weather seems to be deteriorating. Settling on roads and cars so on.
  20. The snow does seem to be blowing around a bit, some drifting in places. Dread to think what the roads are like out there now.
  21. Interesting .. temperature reading -0.4 here, 65m ASL. Currently Heavy Snow, Sicking to most surfaces. (even main roads)
  22. Cold air must be hanging on well.. It's 2.0c here and its thawing. Good night though, we've all done well it seems.
