Odd spot of rain in a biting E wind. Temp 2.8C and falling. Hopefully the heavier PPN will reach here and turn to snow. *waits patiently*

Been dry here all night. Was 0C at midnight now 2.6C and rising. Wish the temps would stay down BUT the sleet/snow is forecast to arrive roughly by the evening so dont panic people. People with drizzle are just seeing Dribs and drabs of a front pretty much unrelated to tonights snow.

I see and agree with where you are coming from but being as every fresh forecast is getting closer and closer to the event and more details become apparent, people are going to hang on to the words of the forecasters.

I personally dont think I will be high enough. He mentioned high ground over wales and Chilterns. Ah well, speculating gets us nowhere, its fascinating how close it is!

Sounds like a big downgrade from Rob mcelwee just. Talking about snow only at elevation and at best wet snow elsewhere.

Its ridiculous that the models are not agreeing in T24. Still, makes nowcasting VERY fun indeed! Being roughly 5 miles NW of Bham and at a decent altitude, im hopeful but something in the back of my mind says it will just be rain. Oh well ,roll on tomorrow!

I dont understand. The Beeb are saying "when the rain bumps into the cold air over the midlands..." etc it will turn to snow. But we havent got cold air. Its gone quite mild really. I dont think 5C will allow any snow accumulation? Thoughts?

Snow now stopped. Got a good 3 quarters of an inch though so im happy! Edit-Not 3 to 4 inches... rather 3 quarters of an inch lol.

Well after 12 hours of solid rain yesterday, today couldnt be much further away from yesterdays weather. It has been a nice day with plenty of sunshine but it hasnt half felt cool out in the breeze.

To be honest im getting sick of how much rain their is. Its ok until roughly 11am then after that their is heavy and prolonged showers and this pattern has repeated itself throughout the past week and a half. Its really getting tiresome and you are limited as to what you can do outside. The ground is fully saturated with large puddles on fields near me. Rant over. That feels better!

Started off a nice day but like the past few days cloud comes rolling in and then the day is cloudy with a few heavy showers. The ground round here is saturated due to the amount of rain especially due to sunday evenings downpour.

A mainly dry and sunny day with long periods of sunshine up until 10 mins ago where we had our first shower of the day. Warm in any sun but feels a lot fresher now. Current temp 17C.

I don't know where you are in Walsall, but i was near Barr Beacon? Travelling back to West Bromwich, they had missed everything really in comparison. The rainfall amounts between the two places didnt compare to be honest. It really was a beast but quite localised. And i didnt have my phone with me so no pics! Grrr. Currently , ANOTHER heavy shower with gusty winds and heavy rain. No electric though.

2 storms today. The first one was a corker at around 12.15pm. I was in walsall at a place with good visibility and this mahoosive purple cloud just snook up on me while i was mowing a lawn. It had a shelf cloud as well and i could see vivid CG forks against the dark cloud backdrop. I never did get to finish the mowing! The rain was torrential. Max you could do on the road was 15mph and there was a mist about 8 inches deep off the ground from the splashback of the rain and it made it look as though cars were levitating towards you. The surface water was terrible and the water was approx 4ft out the gutter. The second one was around 3.20pm and was a lot more tame. A few flashes of lightning and rumbles but once again quite severe rain.

Moderate/heavy rain but no sferics. 3rd intense dowmpour of the day. But with not a rumble of thunder all day either.

You must have caught the main chunk of the rain just gone because it was only moderate here. The 1st one left my grass like a lake for a good 10 minutes! I was expecting thunder though??
