Your right ,you think.. uppers are not cold enough (yet )need inland height for settling ,balancing act isn't it need warm sea 11c for convection but to much for snow on coast ,as its not deep cold above ,lots of variables but rule of thumb has to be -8 or lower for showers to develop and fall as snow on coast ,inland with height is a different kettle of fish Edit ..the north sea is 11c or our patch is if not a tad warmer in channel not that you need it ,it is )

I do remember it tom ,new years eve and my nan and grandad couldn't get home either they only lived in Chatham and me and my parents bluebell hill by crematorium, no chance ,but I do remember it happening again and it was the same thing little fine crystals going side ways then ,by morning it had nearly all melted thats the trouble with it unless it temporary then either dies out and wind swings back to a east or north easterly again and it repeats again

Sunday thru thurs ,suprise suprise ,the low is way way south 400 miles so but even then its got to be perfect ,ide always prefer rain to snow than snow to rain ,which is the chance with front pushing up from the south it only needs to push up to far and thats it, bobs your uncle ,not far enough zilch ,but still cold ,its a gamble from the south ,so I'm glad it shot south tbh

I wouldn't put all my savings on it(lying snow) here ( in low lying Tonbridge) directly the trough comes south ,1 it fragments ,2 it also brings colder air but swings the winds northerly, then north westerly ,3 then say out to 144hrs its waiting to see what late Friday Saturday may bring ,but don't take no notice of me im just a fair weather weather watcher

Just remember ,keep up with yourself ,does look festive but not straight away ,old saying ,let's see how it plays out or time will tell ,i reckon we could be on for a Christmas cracker, everyone needs a cut off to prop things up as highs do like to sag or be inert its in there nature ..helps us out enormously ,shame it wasn't totally tropical because it would gave been a record breaking anomaly:(

Keeping an eye on the mad forum.. Why?? They will twist you ,pull you ,squeeze you ,pull you out long ,they will be bias un bias ,but you can see what they can ,you know in your heart what will near on take place,,directly some thing stirs down over nw Africa ,the only thing is spring and autumn (poses a problem ) if in winter you know something is stirring,,its not like I thought earlier about tropical cyclone, but maybe sub tropical that opens the door for jet

Yea your totally right ,but looking at it as it is, if even it plays out like it is predicted to do we are caught in no man's land (like always huh ) so its looking the wash to Wrexham line plus north Midlands because inland ,high ground tad south than that ,so we get the worse of both , so neither warm ,cold easterly ,but not cold enough for the festive bit ,wet miserable with nagging easterly ,till ...see what happens

This, if it comes off has got to set a record surely, we will see, as it is 300 hrs out ,but this is no medicane, this is a proper tropical or cut off low turned sub tropical just off nw Africa, if their was a hierarchy of tropical storms top brass would say 'what you playing at ,oh can be bothered to go all that way across the Atlantic to end back here ,I just gonna meader here lol Plus it would say, i never wanted a cold heart just warm one
