in south croydon at about 1545 today, there was a quite tremendous shower which started as hail, then changed to rain with sleet and finally to hail with sleet/snow. it left about 1cm of white slush on all surfaces, and for about 10 mins the roads were like rinks!! winter doesn't want to let go!!!!!!

i'm sooooooooo annoyed!!! in exeter it's been steadyily throughing down precip for 5 hours now, very heavy at times. the temp has hovered around 1.4oC and as such, it has been constant heavy SLEET. at times it turns briefly to snow and settles on cars, only to be wiped out by the next transistion to sleet! everything is soaking wet, with the mini rivers flowing along the roads, it's been that heavy. just 0.5oC lower and we've have 4'' by now, ARGH!!!!! sod this, i'm off up to Dartmoor now! will report on that when i get back

just started here in exeter! preceded by 15 mins of light rain, so damp surfaces. temp dropped from 5.7 at about 1500 to 3.2oC currently.

best snow yet for exeter! about 10 - 15mm i'd say. temp 0.6, sun already getting at it, so i fear it won't last.

just kicked in here in exeter again. very heavy hail at the moment, though as i type it seems to be falling more and more slowly, def some snow mixed in there! lets be having some of that wales weather, come on!

just had a good flurry in exeter, of the mini-snowball type. sign of things to come...

woke up a while ago, bizzarre scene. everything was covered in snow, though only a dusting. usually you'd expect onlyto see it on cars and rooftops, but it was also on the roads and pavements, grass and trees. and no - it isn't a frost!!! we had a flurry 15 mins ago, but again very light, temp 0.4oC

just got back from work nearly an hour ago. here in exeter we had a prolonged shower of about 30 mins at 1830ish, which simply melted away. however we had another light one at around midnight, and although it lasted but 10 mins, left a dusting on cars, grass and rooftops. looking at the 15 min radars there are showers flirting with Dartmoor up the road, so hoping they may pay us another visit! it's ridiculously cold aswell, -3.7oC as i write, so any precip will stick like glue! gonna wait it out another hour or so to see what happens...

well we finally got some here in Exeter! a very light sleet/snow shower at 0.7*c! but more to the point i've been watching the avbrief radar images and the precip that intensified over bedford/luton at 0330 has moved south over london, but on the last 45 mins radars, has stalled beautifully over s. london, surrey and kent. it's just not going anywhere! if any1 out there can confirm this great. i was supposed to come home on friday for the palace match, but i think i may just have to head up later today as i reckon there's gonna be a good inch at least!!!

just had a text from a mate back home, claims its coming down in Croydon now. damnit i'm missing it!!! still nothing here at exeter uni but rain, which just stopped. temp at 2.3

starting to get some moderate rain here in exeter now. it's cold rain though...! temp 3.6...no now 3.5..hope yet...?
