  1. ditto - at least it gets added to the snow league, i'm glad i'm not compiling that today!
  2. Snow's OK when it sticks but it wasn't sticking here apart from 300m and above. Sticking in Darwen and Stoke on Trent though, some other factors are coming into play with this I think.
  3. Nothing settling here at 150m, looks like you've got it good there in Stoke
  4. Nothing sticking here - current conditions available at ribble-valley-weather.info
  5. Quite windy here - adding to the coldness. Doesn't appear to be sticking though even though it was quite cold this morning, currently 1C.
  6. Absolutely bucketing it down with snow!! No idea of temps as I've just done a chemistry exam - more updates to come. This snow started about 10 mins ago, there were a few sprinkles at about 8:15 though.
  7. im reported 0.5C more accurate weather station 3 miles away saying 2.3C
  8. Not sure what happened here overnight but its currently very cold. Blue skies and water has frozen on my garden table to ice. As for anything white, nothing not even 550m up.
  9. overcast 2.3C and no sign of precipitation
  10. My thermometer says 3.2C, however the more reliable ribble valley website 3 miles away says 2.4C
  11. The thunder doesn't surprise me with some of the CB's dotting around today.
  12. Its 8.3C here, d.p. of 8C and the mist is about 2m high, you can see over the top of it, looks quite neat.
  13. 2.8C - probably could tell you the conditions an hour ago but the windows full of condensation now - Think its dark though outside Seriously though the gritters have been out so it looks like it will be a cold night as the gritters are never wrong.
  14. I didn't know I'd been counted never mind qualified. Just to think other parts of Burnley still had over 2cm of snow 24 hours after the snow, quite low down in this part. Just goes to show how Burnley's height above sea level varies dramatically in different places.
  15. Dry bright clear. snow from Thursday still on hills. 2.6C
  16. Snow from Thursday afternoon still on the hills.
  17. A photo of Pendle Hill earlier this morning, only snow left higher up. Got some more pics of the surrounding hills from my way home and will put them as well as this image on some webspace tonight for all to see.
  18. Nothing here in Burnley itself apart from frost, however look around you to the hills which tower around the town in all directions and there's a good covering of snow. I've attempted to take a photo of pendle hill from near my house where theres a clear view and we'll see how it turns out when I get back, but basically anything high up in Burnley will have woken to a covering which has stayed since 9pm last night when the last of the band headed south which shows how cold it is. The car was frozen rigid this morning and I managed to nearly take the handle of the passenger side door but fixed it now. If anyone's interested I'll post the image when I get home later tonight.
  19. Need some new batteries for my thermometer, but when I resynched them a few hours ago it was 3.1C - now its 4.1C. Sky is very clear and Visibility is probably at its highest. Starting to now get a great view of Pendle Hill now the tree at the bottom of my house has started to lose its leaves (its always the last to get leaves and the last to lose them)
  20. Weird variety of clouds this afternoon on my way home at at about 3:45. Turreted cumulus (castenullus??) to the west running along in a long line, with quite a bit of height. To the east a kind of wall cloud. Blue skies, cumulus and altocumulus inbetween with some very high level cloud, quite crystal like reflecting red and green light. Sun has now setted and temp is 7.5*C
  21. Getting thunder here, nothing too special though. Mainly thunderless, not surprising with all the rain I've had this evening.
  22. Can only confirm one, but the activity around would suggest I've had more.
