Rain and wind earlier today, radar looks like its all finished here now, so it'll be dry with grey overcast skies. -

Yeah, check the live lightning map on here and that suggests these crackles are coming from a band north of morecambe

wouldnt have said its been that windy here. Very heavy rain possibly torrential this morning, no sign of thunderstorm. On the way home mw was crackling.

doubt it although theres a few of these insects which appear to be whats been described to me as thunderbugs on the irc weather chatroom about. However, no chance of thunder up here unless fred elliot burps.

:shock: I'm awaiting the top of this front that was just over the mersey an hour ago to pass over me. Just about to check the clouds to the south for an indication before the radar updates in 10 mins.

Just to confirm, no thunder here but a suspected tornado, will scan newspaper and let Paul decide whether I qualify through location and the photograph itself for being added to league table.

I'm depressed now, I thought I'd get a foot of snow to make up for last years lack of action , ended up watching the telly jealous at people being snowed in while all the roads were gritted and around 2 cm on the drive.

Nice :shock: Nice this morning at 9, towering clouds about, then once I'm at work it rains to put it mildly. As the afternoon went on it started to brigten up and lots of towering clouds were about on my way home at 5. On the whole a balence today between p1 $$ ing down and sunny intervals. As for Thunder, well there's as much chance of that happening as there is Accrington Stanley winning the premiership.

Too cloudy to see anything, its been overcast all day with dark grey clouds and the odd shower, sometimes as in the past 15 minutes heavy. Rain is better than nothing I suppose, just hope I get at least 1 thunderstorm this year, no point wishing for any more as its impossible.

Tim, did you hear the thunder very early this morning 1am till 4:30am - I slept through it but the sferics are proof. Typical!!
