    I don’t know why people would disagree with this - maybe not ‘most’ people but I certainly know some people on the breadline who will really struggle. Not trying to guilt trip anyone for liking cold weather though! I hope we have a snowy winter

    today really is the worst of autumnal weather and the worst of british weather in general. Pouring rain and windy. Grotesque.

    I thought it would probably be SLW but I have seen another picture somewhere of a tree ‘twisted off’ about half way up the trunk.

    Fingers crossed for another warm-up. With warmer weather comes the chance of another round like last night!

    Some pretty good vids from Andover coming out - sadly I think something nearby was struck and caught fire though can’t find out more info. I do remember one very positive CG when I was brushing my teeth. Blinding flash followed by an instant shotgun crack which set the dog off. an 8/10 for me - really decent - not quite as prolific lightning-wise as the May storm of 2022 but more violent I think.

    There were storms last night? Only kidding, of course I wasn’t asleep! Tried to go to sleep just before round 3 but the storm kept dropping some positive strikes nearby with absolutely explosive sounding thunder which kept making me jump. A few things around here must’ve been struck. Cracking storm(s) though and makes up for the drought we’ve endured a little. Didn’t really get many pics or anything because of the torrential rain.     It was awesome here - between here and Whitchurch where my friends were watching. Got really violent for about 5 minutes

    I call it a bust for my area absolutely. Still think the SE will do well. Theres even a hole opening up in the drizzle for Andover to slide through.

    Sharp showers all along the south coast apart from - you guessed it - Hampshire. Cursed county.

    If you run the radar animation the cores of the storms over the Channel Islands and the Brest peninsula barely move - they’ve travelled about 20 miles north in nearly 3 hours

    cracking show over Guernsey. Must’ve been going for hours now

    I’ve been gone an hour and they haven’t made any northern progress of note - at least the active core of the cells anyway
