  1. Can see a good storm about 30 miles out to sea from here in Westcliff now the sun is going down, anvil is lighting up pink every few minutes. Should be better when the sun is down in 30 minutes or so,
  2. Hoping to catch something soon here in Southend. Storms marching in.
  3. Jo the front edge is now arriving in Southend, loud thunder here, storm number 2
  4. Great thunderstorm just moved through here, pouring rain, lots of fork lightning and loud thunder. Also some good pea sized hail in there.
  5. Cb's and towers all around here, very warm and humid compared to yesterday. Hoping to catch one of the storms as they move through.
  6. Juicy feel here in Southend at the mo, dep point at 16 degrees, temp at 23! Hopefully catch something in the next week or two.
  7. Thunderstorms coming in to Essex now. Edit: Developing in a well sheared environment, interesting radar echo.
  8. Apologies, misread your original post. Your points are certainly valid and I would agree re large hail. Torro going for possible 10-15mm in diameter though. I think the sustained nature of the updrafts here being of note. http://www.torro.org...te/forecast.php Edit: To be fair to you as well ESTOFEX specifically say small hail.
  9. I would say given it's radar signature and longevity their would be hail despite the unfavourable conditions you mention.
  10. That cell may be a low topped supercell. The shear environment it is in combined with the radar echo would suggest it might be. If anyone can see the top look for the slight overshoot.
  11. Would agree with the sentiments of others re the active skies around here, certainly looks interesting.
  12. Nothing here in Southend yet, going to stay up for a while yet though to see how this plays out, certainly all very north-easterly as it comes off the continent in terms of electrification.
  13. Sferics on quite a north-easterly trend it seems looking at the loop.
  14. Sferics in the north sea now off Holland, first proper effort out to sea. Edit: met office forecasting this to come through quite quickly , clearing the south east by 1am. Edit 2: sfterics on the atd, lightning in oxfordshire.
  15. See this, in french though... http://www.keraunos....lution-8-km.htm Edit: the whole site is great and worth exploring, you don't need to know to much french to find your way around.
  16. Will be interesting to what we get from tonights activities, by no means a guarantee of any thunder though, but there certainly looks a chance.
  17. Muggy feel walking home from work in Southend...I am hoping for something tonight after sleeping through the whole lot on Monday night...still can't believe that!
  18. Can't believe I slept through the whole thing! Wasn't on the ball at all...What a shame!
  19. Another thundery week, quite a thundery April this is turning out to be, especially if as mentioned there is more to come at the end of the month.
