  1. Sure it wouldn't last long but that ^ picture needs to go on the model thread! Just back from snowy schools cross country, v unexpected snow here. Bit melty now but good to see.
  2. Couple more pics from yesterday. Cover was still intact when I left at 6, hoping we were just to far west for the warm sector.
  3. Done quite well here, off for a walk soon. Love winter when it's actually wintery.
  4. Proper snow here, a fun, white, rainbows run. 0.5C couple of cm's on all surfaces.
  5. Not much snow today so here's some from yesterday in case we're all missing it.
  6. Certainly could be, Euro 4 has a wee closed low for nowish but that looks a lot more dramatic. Hopefully MistyQueen will report in soon as to what it's doing. Not an expert BTW.
  7. Winter rubber - cannae beat it! Some pics of snow(y trees mostly) from out the back this morning. Should have taken the SLR, so lazy these days! A different use for trees, that's for later! Snowball, snow laden branch, wife and camera = multitask fail! And finally the mighty Gathering Stone, always wondered why they felt they had to cage in?
  8. Beautiful cover of powder in the sun this morning, not a great depth but very pretty with all the snow still stuck to the trees. Pics later. I'm assuming the big band missed me to the South.
  9. Hope it does, it's a beauty, everything white and fun dad's taxi run through it especially as I took mum's car withoot winter rubber!
  10. Dunno, I know what I'd like it to be!
  11. Big snow, settling, bring it on!
  12. I've looked before Ross but not found one! Got a similar conundrum for tomorrow, will Glenshee road be shut or not?
  13. For the winter rubber (wubba) lovers out there - http://scairngormsblog.sais.gov.uk/2015/01/a-wild-winters-day/
  14. And I'm still tempted to go for a drive to see Maitlands 13inches another 5 miles up the road. Why do we always want more?
  15. Definitely a bit melty out there but depth on grass is still 17cm, wonder if it will survive. Bit concerned about flooding with heavy rain and melt! Scenes not as pretty as last night as most snow has fallen of trees. Calibrated ruler test. Mini sledge piste nicely prepared.
  16. Cover still intact here, looking a bit dripy though. No real gains from this mornings band, didn't see it cause I was sleeping. Wet snow still falling, will take a wander with the ruler and camera in a bit.
  17. Expectations officially exceeded! Up to 20cm on grass now and still coming down, if only I could get decent photos in the dark.
  18. So there was a radar lull so I went out for a clear and a measure. 4cm since 6, 6cm since 4 and 11cm since last night - all on cars. 12-15cm on grass. And snowed lightly/steadily while I was out and still is.
  19. Yes me, desperately trying ot line up angles to see if I'm getting hit by the whole band but on heavy atm.
  20. Another big shower here, dropped an inch or so covering all surfaces again. Watching the next batch incoming but looks like it might miss.
  21. About an inch here this morning and a big shower to make the school run extra fun. Up Ben Ledi today, which has lots of lovely powder with thigh deep drifts. Didn't get to top, ridge was a bit windy (as expected).
  22. Reads quite similar to Roger J Smith's prelim forecast to me, which is interesting!
  23. Although Glenshee is looking a lot less pretty I'm sure the main runs and uptracks will hold out for a while yet. Because nearly all the snow this season has fallen in high winds the fences and gullies have caught a really good deep base. Snow beyond Meall Odhar is exceptionally deep and even.
