  1. That's enough of the snow, bored now. Loving the ice and rime instead.
  2. I think that there was a blanket of frontal cloud over the Baltic this morning which limited the convection from there. And not quite cold enough for vigorous convection generally.
  3. Just the dregs fae Fife for me but looks quite pretty this morning .
  4. So if this = Then this 36hrs 48hrs and this means the central belt is going to get quite a lot of snow. Missing on the 24hr Fax but assumed to be in the vicinity. It appears from satellite that the Baltic sea is a snow making machine which will feed central Scotland for a couple of days continuously.
  5. Never been but used to work with a lass from there - nuff said.
  6. She's fae Lochgelly, do you think she'll no know that?
  7. UK weather: Snow across England and Scotland in pictures WWW.BBC.CO.UK People share their photos of snow, as forecasters predict more flurries and ice for the coming days. Have a flick through, feels just like our thread!
  8. Mad thread a happy place again then? Not been for a few days! GFS operational kinds cold!
  9. Western Ochils today, still having to go high for proper snow. Full avy gear today to aid snow holing! 1.5m depth and plenty of space for 2. Pillow in situ. Tempted to try sleeping there but only to escape my wife's moaning due to lack of accumulating snow at home. I may have ramped prematurely.
  10. I got 46cm in Dunblane and I was under the impression that most of this had come over Perth on the way. ENErly?
  11. You do realise the depths are mm not cm? Snow is on here, currently at flakes per minute but it's a start.
  12. Isn't it funny how you have an epic event on the right side of marginal then assume the next marginal will be equally good and then be really grumpy when it's not!
  13. If only I was allowed to drive here to test the winter tyres.
  14. Is it an angry chicken pecking at John O Groats or a friendly duck nuzzling the Moray Firth? It's got a cold ear to be sure.
  15. Looks to me like UKMO pushes Atlantic low back S and E between 120 and 144, don't know how that will develop but indicates the power of the Easterly!
  16. Yes he still frequents but seems to have picked up some Irish Blood somewhere. Now Scottish Irish Skier.
  17. Convergence lines? Snakes? Check out the precip animation 86hrs onwards on Arpege UK view on Meteociel! WWW.METEOCIEL.FR Meteociel propose de manière régulière le modèle à maille fine de ARPEGE 0.1° de Meteo-France sur 5 zones (France, Nord-Ouest, Nord-Est, Sud-Ouest, Sud-Est)
  18. Rather wet here and has washed all this away from this morning. So had to go up above 300m to find dry snow, bit windy though. MOV_0993.mp4
  19. Fairly continuous showers here, of snow. 3cm so far at a guess. Looks a bit damp but a good start.
  20. Just pop this here to help with snow depth speculation. Slightly different synoptic but similar surface conditions I think.
