Any chance of a storm in Central Southern England this evening? The storm charts look favourable???? ( to my very untrained eye haha. )
-
Got some snow here in Aylesbury, Bucks. Only a little dusting, but a start!
-
Everywhere I seem to look it says we're getting snow and then it's turning to rain or rain/sleet in the early hours of sunday morning. I saw a chart that was posted in here saying snow depth will only be in the northern half of England? Is the snow going to melt everywhere else? So it's not sticking around so to speak? Just wanna be clear, sorry for being simple lol!

Seeing as there is not much going on here, I found a live cam for Warsaw, Poland, which looks to be hit by a big thunderstorm soon. http://www.ittv.pl/efuzja/

So I looked at the CAPE chart. The highest CAPE around 1100j/kg is pretty much on me. This doesn't necessarily mean that I will get storms right? Here in Bucks, we have had storms initiating. But this was before the highest cape was forecast. All the storms seem to be firing in the East now.

Oh wowwwww. The storm here is torrential! The wind has picked up. It's fierce out there! Thunder and lightning. THE LOT!
-
:smiliz46: Sigh! Well, everytime something heads towards us it looks as if it makes it, and then dies. Why can't anything in this country be certain? Everytime there's an event it's always marginality, unless its rain ofcourse, then we get that by the bucketloads! ..... alot will probably say "because usually it's the Atlantic that dominates our weather", but still! its frustrating lol. Anyway! im hoping for more snow during the week Met office have a sprawl of showers / patchy snow tomorrow afternoon, whilst the BBC have nothing. I just want a BIG storm! :D
Seeing as I don't have a thermometer or anything, i go by my desktop gadget and other sources on the net. Most saying Currently -7C Feel like: -11C wowzers.
Hope all you guys are enjoying the snow!

A few loud cracks of thunder here. Torrential rain and a few flashes of lightning......a little unexpected! lol
-
Is anything settling in your areas though?
Here its pretty heavy but its very wet.
-
Snowing here in Aylesbury. Albeit wet, sticking briefly before melting
Really needs to pick up intensity!
-
Just woke up (yeah im lazy) to find it snowing!!!
After a wet night it finally decides to snow. Its moderate and is settling on everything! The wind is blowing it all around, fence is turning white and everything.
Pretty awesome stuff. Yippee lol
Looking at the radar i dont think we'll be getting too much but atleast it's white!!
-
Dont believe it, 0.9C and it was falling as rain here in Bucks! Chucking it down, it was only a few hours ago that there was a pretty hard frost! damn! lol amazing don't u think? British weather eh!!!
-
hmmm, no snow for the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire area? not according to the BBC anyway
-
Wow, beautiful pics!!!! Keep them coming!!!!

as circled earlier to
Just had a look on the Netweather radar and the prcip under that is just really light. Doesn't seem like much?
ED: or should i say, anything spectacular?
-
After that really hefty snow shower. The suns backout and it looks beautiful outside! Wow.
Starting to melt pretty quickly though

Much more organised band of snow approaching from the ENE - see the attached:
http://www.meteox.nl...&soort=satradar
Should gie some interest to Suffolk, Essex, Kent and poss East Sussex as it goes through.
SS
LOL Paul - you type faster than me!
Looking at the Netweather radar the forecasted path that this precip will take is for it to swing round and miss the coast. :S
Obviously we'll see lol

The sky tonight is so awesome! So orangey Red it's unbelievable, looks very beauitful though!

Well, got quite a bit of snow here on top of the thawed 4inches we have had throughout the week and this town is a nightmare. No grit has been layed down anywhere in the county it seems. Roads have become gridlocked wherever you are, cars not making it up hills and reports of spin outs and shunting all over the place! Moderate snowfall now, although very small flakes. Been snowing since 2.45am. Looks great out there though! another picturesque day! :air_kiss:
EDIT: Glad to say, all schools in the area are open though, despite the distruption.
-
Well seeing as the midlands thread is dead i'll post here lol.
Snow is starting to cover the ground making up for all the snow lost during the thaw, now a nice white blanket again. Precip tends to dissipate as it hits my area, seems as if it's reluctant to keep intensity, allways seems to happen in snow events! No idea why lol. Light snow, temp of -0.9
