Yayyyy, well im forecast a stream of snow over me later this evening from roughly 9pm til 3am going by the bbc weather map with the 24hr forecast image going with heavy snow between midnight and 3am Friday.

Also Netweather are also going along the lines of this!

This normally means you won't get anything. NW is showing something ridiculous like 0.05mm for Northants which equates to diddly squat over 3 hrs.

The heavier precip will be concentrated over East Anglia and the south-east. No denying that now.

I have a good chance of seeing snow falling Thursday night into Friday. The thing is its forecast by Netweather to be 'V.light' - Doesn't sound very interesting to put it bluntly. Should i be taking this with a pinch of salt, or is this what is expected for us?

To be honest with you , thats the first iv heard of the sat night event as back edge snow?????? Its meant to be an omega block with bitterly cold esterly winds followed by a cold northerly, if there is now another WARM secter involved for tat front then i really cant be arsd with it , its the middle of dec , why would there be a warm secter? Well I thought Saturday was forecast to be SNOW with accumulations. Temps are forecast to be negative through the night and throughout the day for the best part of the UK, if im right.

EDIT: Saying that.....Monday into Tuesday has better prospects of snow according to Netweather forecast. Doh Good, more prolonged stuff ALWAYS being put back and then not happening! lol

Underneath the 'sleet' 35 miles SE of Leicester on that NW extra image. Just looks like plain old rain outside at the moment. Plenty of showers feeding off the Wash and up the Nene valley, so I'd expect this to continue overnight. I'll keep taking a look to there is any sniff of anything wintery.

Well GFS has got the mins wrong for tonight many places in the south below freezing already , I expected this to be the case , clear skys and high pressure , light winds. Frost will be widespread in the morning and not just in the north as bbc have been saying .

I realy dont know what to think anymore,I think this rollercoaster is worse than this Febraury.

It's not nice is it....but i suppose when you follow the models and everything from far out were bound to be dissapointed in the long run, might aswell just see what the weather does day by day instead of looking into the future lol .... im prepped up for being dissapointed anyway :lol:

It is interesting seeing what does get dished out each day though!!
