  1. 2 hour to go in Hamburg without a snowflake falling for my wager against no white christmas to come in! Crapping mi self, but looking good with clear conditions 2'C in a slight SSE breeze @ 1016mb.

  3. mezza dreams to live in this place one fine day, flitting between the texas pan-handle for the summer thunderstorms (like Paul Sher's lucky Stormchasers) and Buffalo for the winter snowstorms, what more could one possibly wish for?

  5. Musing over a wager AGAINST a white one ain't no joy either, The bookies have got wind of the winds ?{lol} and the best on offer is Aberdeen at 1/4 for NO Snow on xmas day, between 1/12 and 1/5 across the remaining UK cities. Hamburg looks a tease at 2/1 with PP for No Snow but the temps as the front crosses Germany xmas day start off low regardless of the SWerlies so its a dodgy un , all eyes on wetterzentrale percip type charts  ?
  6. Dry, clear and cool in a light northerly breeze. 1020mb rising, 41% humid, 2.8'C South facing, 1.7'C North reading ? Our house aint efficient at retaining heat
  7. moderate rain unabating for last few hour in southerly breeze. 4.1'C, 986mb falling slowly, 60% humidity, Sure is some cold wrapped up in this system to say its a southerly wind? just right temp outside to chill the beer kegs for the BIG boxing match later, C'mon Hitman!
  8. It'll be no earlier than T+144 before I cover bet with NO white xmas on Betfair and the like but I agree in that its a better feeling to wager on who or what you prefer even if its the massive outsider so I applaud your 8's their sapgem but i'm still licking my wounds from deciding on London instead of Norwich 2 years ago at sheer greed of longer odds between the two locations.
  9. Odds holding at generally 6-1 for english cities, Scots @ 4-1 and 11-4, Although I sense these will shorten quite firmly during next week? Particularly if the continental air comes into the equation - as being mentioned in the model discussion squawk box thread.
  10. The cutoff period has passed has Bill farkins grebes are mating in his kitchen. But that film must go down as one of the funniest ever Roger, Bill Murray at his finest!
  11. Breezy, cloudy & dry but feeling very mild. 995mb falling, 13.9c, 46% humidity, Gusty Westerly breeze in full cloud cover. Reminds me of a christmas day pattern
  12. Thanks for the feature Mr D The Azores high ridged to join a "non-existent-these-days" High over Newfoundland and turn the Atlantic into a mill pond - 15th DEC 1950 that cyclogenesis business-thingy eventually played its part but it looks like anticyclones never totally retreated south until mid Jan following. (NAO`s were -1.26 (nov) and -1.02 (dec), turning + for the following Jan & feb months of the new year)
  13. Seeing as I can neither afford or simply wish to go to Africa? then I'll try that tip! thank you very much GW
  14. "Embracing FI beyond the reliable timeframe IMHO is of worthy note as Psycho-genesis is far from wrote in stone". Can I now officially walk the walk in the Model output sanitarium too?
  15. Thanks John Google earth/earthtools etc. show little detail for the area in trying to locate where the shot is coming from
  16. This (cancel the username/password prompt!) collection has been posted on more than one occasion but I have not seen a topic containing it for a long time? Theirs around 30 stations some with very high impressive resolutions and some offline with minimal quality, ranging from eastern siberian Yakutia regions, through Russia, into Finland and Norway (usual Svalbard cams), Greenland and Alaska (interestingly the sun set for the last time on 18th Nov in Barrow and wont be seen again for 2 month). My faves are the Finland - Rovaniemi cams, the "Sillat bridges" shots looking North East across the Kemijoki river over the railway bridge then suspension bridge is This shot (66.4954N 25.734E) The "Lordi's square" cam just off upper left of the above riverbank shot above - is located Lordi's sq. in the centre of Rovaniemi (66.5024N 25.7314E) looking WNW. Very seasonal scenes at the mo! Does anyone know where the first Norwegian fjord cam shot is located?
  17. Been a long time since I saw 3.7'C from a Southerly direction! Moderate breeze, total cloud cover, Intermittent light rain, 56% humidity, 1001MB falling slightly, Really hoping this front pivots and the colder air digs in behind as 400ft up aint that high for me.

  19. best latest odds: london 7/1 Exeter, liverpool, cardiff, leeds, dublin & manchester 6/1 birmingham 9/2 ??? Aberdeen 9/4 theyv got wind ov summat as odds have certainly shortended of late!
  20. Still licking my wounds from xmas 05 where Norwich paid out (6-1?) but London(8-1?) didnt Promised not to get so excited and blow the rent again! but alas,,, teleconnections of late n all that
  21. Seems valid that it should make the headlines SS, as we all know how vulnerable Bangledesh is geographically-wise, Depends if theirs an update to the "spice tour" though I suppose <_< Whats NHC's slant on it? Not had chance to hav a butchers?
  22. Dry 7/8 cloud, 5.3'C, 52% humidity, 1022mb rising slightly, very slight NE breeze, If this cloud dont break sharpish then the Beeb's 'fantasised' 3-4 belows are way off the mark <_<
