I'm also in the Lakes next weekend but I've already missed 3 snow events this year whilst I was over there so I'm used to it now.
I was hoping for some sun and warmth tbh hah, although nearly every time i've been to the lakes it's rained
-
Oh wow if the ECM came off then i'd be literally depressed i'm off to the lakes next weekend! If the East coast was getting slammed and I was getting a watered down version in the west i'd probably cry hahah.
Before then Tuesday/Wednesday looking good as an airmass moves back in from the North East, Spring is still on hold for the meantime!
-
Feeling much milder out there now, back in Atlantic Air.
-
What a contrast to last March if this below average weather continues. Let's hope its an omen for a good summer!
-
Odd flurries and snow showers going on here since morning, no covering though
-
Ironically I think it is too cold for large accumulations as any snow which falls is so dry that it just gets blown away again.
Yup was quite funny in town a load of snow got blown into this poor lass she was mortified lmao. Driving home it was literally just blowing off the road its quite pellet-y in nature the snow that's been falling, and is again now.
The first thing I thought as i was outside this morning was how warm it felt in the sun, that was until the wind hit and really is the coldest wind i've felt in a long while it was perishing!
-
The wind really gets up when a shower is approaching, very powerful gust against the window then a round of hail!
-
Surely the conditions in Eastern Scotland are going to move south with the sinking high? Had a fair few showers today, the one this morning left a covering but quickly melted in the sun, showers since haven't been enough to lie but have been heavy and often accompanied by gusty winds making it 'blizzardy' at times. Nice day of sunshine and snow showers, and more to come I expect

Love to see the snow blowing up my street, rather than down it, reminds me this is coming from a very cold direction!
-
Decent snow shower going on here, every flake is sticking
-
Still 3C air temperature here, but the dew-point has dropped from 2C this afternoon to -1C now
-
If that FAX trough materialises then we could be in for a major dumping! -13-14 Uppers and plenty of trough precipitation will allow what falls to accumulate a lot more -going to be a lot dryer snow- than the marginal situations we've had this winter, which still in fact gave relatively good depths.
Hopefully we get a trough, but there's no guarantee we will. Showers will still be nice but i'd like to see how much snow can actually stick around in March. The waiting resumes...

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Brighter with sunny spells but also some sleet or snow showers, and feeling very cold in brisk northeast or north winds.
Showers still expected, but perhaps not as plentiful or intense as first expected. Shame really given the uppers, we'll see... snow showers are unpredictable beasts as we all know.
-
I can't see anything other than snow showers, and a lot of them if the latest GFS and ECM verify for our region, at least in the initial blast.
Please can this not get watered down, just for once?

***t the bed

Must admit, whilst it did look like Saturday was our best chance for snowfall, this is better than what I was expecting in all honesty. Better make the most of it though!
Hmm I'm meant to be helping my mam move house today, this could be an annoyance tbh lmfao
-
Oh my couple of inches of snow outside, I didn't expect that like hahaha
-
This is just further proof that a high centered around Scandi is absolutely useless for us, non descript dull blegghh. Is it summer yet?
-
I will be very annoyed if all we get for the next few days is this damp drizzly mess of weather, after the beautiful start we had this morning as well. I was just enjoying the roads being dry for once and then literally everything is sogging wet again!
-
Latest GFS runs bring what i've been looking for this Winter, some -10 uppers, i'd love to have an non marginal event before the winter is out.
We've seen our fair share of snow this winter.
TBH I'm sick of the sight of it.
It gets to a point where i'm not as excited about the possibility of it, but its still nice to see when it comes along. I'm craving a good thunderstorm so am pretty much ready to see Winter out now
-
Couple of Cms here in Hebburn, a good covering Due to melt later on though
Definitely intensifying here, a fair bit of drifting too despite the small depths.
I have a 5cm drift on my window sill pmsl

Did anyone just see 'the year Britain flooded' on channel 4, first weather documentary I've seen focused on Newcastle and Tyneside, a brilliant watch!
-
Whitby is nice one day in August
The only summer we had in Jarrow last year was in March The rest was just a dreary wet blur, except for the thunderstorms, brilliant year for them!
-
I would say we're due a good summer but that's all i've heard for the past 6 years...
