    I see MJO is this years perceived saviour, to go alongside recent winter hits such as SSW, GLAAM and cold pooling to the NE

    So 30000000 posts in the last 7 days and it’s been cold with a frost in most places and will get milder next week will wait for them all to jump on the next wild goose chase (it’s hard to watch honestly)

    I don’t really follow all these winter chases anymore as the vast majority never come off. I’ll wait until I see meto yellow warnings or see posts from those I respect and follow on twitter/x before I get any hopes up

    Where are the convergence zones right now? On the east coast?, as expect that is where will it get tasty later when the cold front arrives

    As i've gotten middle aged i find i can tolerate the heat and long warm spells far better than i can cold and damp and icy. maybe its the beer garden that helps and not having to be cooped up insider near a heat source !

    That ECM 46 - interesting how wetter than average it is in SE europe and how much drier and warmer it is in NW europe What would the warm atlantic be doing (if anything) to aid that?

    its quiet so hopefully no one minds me taking this OT but you cant help but feel with AGW seemingly accelerating, southern spain will become more and more barren as time goes on. that many people living under heat domes like that for 8 months a year ... no thanks !

    This is a really good point, i know a lot of coldies really wanted the SSW but as proven it only gives a 'chance' of increased probability of lowland snowfall but by george you pay for it but the next 6 weeks of dross !

    Most of the coldies (I.e 75% of the site) are lining their burrows for summer hibernation. Looking forward to heat and storms now (which have an immeasurably higher percentage of happening than snowfall !)
