all gone quiet here for the last couple of hours and seems to be on a slow melt. Main roads are clear now, only side roads and car parks with snow. Fingers crossed for a top up soon -

And a very good morning and happy new year everyone fraid I took my eye off the ball with finishing off the last of the turkey, eating the cold srout and finishing the remains of the egg nog Seriously - woke to find 2" of snow and very steady accumulation. Very heavy snow at the moment - lovely big flakes and a forecast for yet more more more over then next few days at this rate, the ramp thread will wither and die !"! -
well it's 2oC, steady rain without even a hint of sleet. The rain has melted whatever lying snow there was and you really can;t imagine it getting any colder - it seems strange that the MetO issues flash warnings just as the weather gets milder
-
nothing here , on a slow melt with leaden skies and not even prospect of the white stuff Snowmad is getting back to the LRF models then
-
really now that would be more than a pleasant surprise
-
think you're right CS, and I really can;t call this one - Wednesday is predicted to be torrentail - but it's still barely above freezing here - woul;d have though and significant drop and we could be looking at some more major snowfall, no temp drop and there could be flooding somewhere. The next 12 hours should give us a better indication
-
what's welsh for ramp?
-
hmmmmmmmmmm looking through the charts and metO and BBc forecasts, it appears that we are on a bit of a knifeedge, though I have to say I'm intruged by NW's forecast of 7cm of rain on Wednesday with no chance of any snow :-S - I can only dream of 7cm of rain falling as snow
-
ahhhhh, well fingers crossed the pennines repeat the trick they've managed so far this month and ward off the rain..........................
-
2.1 o please
-
good lord !!! I try and sleep off 3 turkeys, 43 mince pies and a gallon of port to find i) the roads are like skating rinks and ii) tomorrow I'm either getting a flood or about a foot of snow - erm - clarification anyone ? (and I meant about the weather, not my diet tyvm)
-
