    woke up to an extra 2cm of fresh snow, settled on what has become rather thick ice. Wasn;t holdig out much hope, but about 10 mins ago, more fresh snow falling, large-sih falke (~1cm) and nice and steady - should make the drive to Fleetwood interesting lol

    apologies for not being around today - been doing xmassy stuff - tut - how inconvenient when there is snow lol. However, we have cloud cover, it's -1oC and all we need now is another top of the white stuff anyone got the lastest info? thanks

    I just think this current weather is really E-W dependant- virtually all of the ppl enjoying significant snow are west of Manchester - even then - ther streamers ensure that the snow bands are really narrow - only a couple of miles wide, so you could end up with a cpl of inches in half an hour, or nothing c'est la vie - and I still go by the thought we should be thankfull for what we have got so early in the season, may it be a marker of things to come :lol:

    there is a nice dichotomy between the forecasters nailing this cold spell (barring localised adjustments) pretty well, and yet 5 days out from Christmas, it really could go anyway oh and mods - time to open a new thread? we're clocking up the pages on this one lol

    right, it's all gone very quiet this last hour or snow "tut" when's the next band of snow due lol bloody hell - talk about timing - it's belting down again think they have arrived and thunder too

    might as well kick off this new thread with an update. Clouds are very dark, snow starting again and fingers crossed, could get a dumping from the snow gods . Keeping fingers crossed for the next few hours

    well this is a belter - visibility down to <50m, constant medium to heavy snow falls - it's not only accumulating on pavements and side roads, but on the main roads as they do not appear to have gritted them . Driving is becoming tricky ifyou have 2WD and just got back into hear the local forecaster offering a warning of continued heavy snow up til 10pm Christmas is early this year lol

    finally - a nice steady fall wth flakes upto 1cm across. Complete cloud cover and here's hoping for some noticable accumulation

    that's the million dollar question - my money is on localised showers - I think we could well see one town getting several cm of snow and the next nothing - bit of a gamble today

    hmmmmmmmmm, just woken to find just an extra 1cm of snowfall overnight - I know it's better than some, but still not what I was expecting given the forecast. Having a brew then will venture out - fingers crossed there is more on the way

    well the heavens haven't exactly opened, but there is now plenty of snow falling - medium size flakes. It seems seem to be rather sporadic but I think we've been lucky not to get the warming other places had, so it's now settling nicely on the roads as well

    that's what cause that bloody awful gridlock here last year
