Met Office have finally caught up and removed the warning for down here.
Interesting that the warning area includes much of somerset and wiltshire still I thought it may be moved north towards gloucester.

Snow getting heavier again.
That bodes well so close to the channel.
I guess it just depends on advance of this milder air.

If the forecast is to be believed what we have now is it, nothing but cold rain tonight. Expecting the warning over the south to be removed this morning.
Half an hour or so the met will update warnings it will be interesting to see their take on it all but im just waiting for it to turn to rain now.

I feel like tonights system will be the real treat though!
I am seeing mixed signals for tonights. Looks like rain?

What a waste. Just wet and a slight sprinkle here. Even Bridgwater has more.
and has tonight’s snow all but gone? Can someone confirm?
None of video forecasts have been updated but to me it looks like a rain event this evening.
Hope I am wrong though.

I think whole thing has been pushed north which has given north of region couple of cm but probably at cost of the 5 - 10cm warned for this evening.
Still light snow currently but waiting for it to turn to rain now.

Tonights heavy snow fall seems to have evaporated or should I say melted away on models so enjoy the little snow you may have now it wont last long.

We have snow in Weston-super-Mare.
Nothing on pavement and roads, but probably a cm or 2 on grass.
How long until it turns to rain once that sun rises?
No idea whats going to happen now as my met app says light rain from 8am and sky weather just showed no ppn now until heavey snow tonight but it looks out of date.

Hi Nights King,
I just put my head outside the front door to wave goodbye to my son
and it was really cold cold and it’s been for some time.
it was quite confusing earlier in the day because we had quite a bit of moderate wet snow on and off but never did it feel that cold to me really.
I know sometimes people say it warms up before it snows but I felt to
mild for snow and now it’s much colder out there I don’t think it will start off as late as forecast but instead start office now or at least I’m hoping so.
for you though 100m asl I think has a great chance.
I want to how many metres Westbury Whitehorse hill is above sea level as I often go up there and play football with my boy. I’m imagining it’s probably 150-or 200m asl.
good luck everyone that wants to see the white stuff hope you all get itAre used to work in test Valley live just off Millbrook Road and the difference in the weather was phenomenal.
I remember us working on Romsey estate and it started snowing so heavy and settling everyone got sent home and yet when I got back down the M27 it was just raining onto Millbrook Road.
I think white horse is around 150 - 200 max off top of my head because it was often less snowy than home on mendip back in day and I looked it up once when I was dating girl from westbury.

Could be an interesting 48 hours for some in our region
looking forward to watching things unfold.
Be it white or wet, should be fun ️
Im hoping for some of the white stuff up into the north of the region, I know we have a few members in and around Stroud, and of course @Ali1977 is north east Cotswolds.
Good luck to everyone:)
Don't look in the mod thread then because our event wants to move north of M4 altogether now, that really would be the final insult this winter if it's true...

I have to go to Westbury in the morning first thing leave my car then down to Downton. Then back to Westbury to collect it then back to Frome . Agree with you it will be very interesting to see come what May.
I work just above westbury in erlestoke about 100m asl so I hope that is enough to at least see real snow if it is a sleet and rain event for home.

I think you have a decent chance FK at 200m but it looks like sleet to me even inland without elevation.
God I hope I am wrong.

Met Office will have to adjust their warning, there's absolutely no scope for ice down here, let alone snow.
I am normally more positive but I have to agree I just don't see it for many in our region.

Hate to say it but those charts are purely designed to generate false hope amongst the snow community. Rarely, if ever do they come to fruition.
I don't expect to see much round here, so much hype on bbc weather 5 - 10cm
Its not even gonna settle here or at best a slushy cm melting rapidly.

As expected... rain.
Wednesday looks like rain too.

Just seen Bbc local weather, hammond says couple inches tonight over Mendips, Quantocks and Cotswolds then chance it might reach lower ground wednesday but uncertain.

Never trust an app but the met office app for me has continued its downward trend from snow for 12 hours to rain and sleet for this part of the moor for tuesday and Wednesday Even Princetown now has sleet in the forecast. Might upgrade overnight but so much uncertainty!
I believe tonight into tuesday it will be rain, sleet.
Followed by a weak southerly tracking low on wednesday with temporary accumilations of 1cm in places (mainly hills) follwed by strong low steam rolling in thursday giving us rain.
Temperatures just don't look good enough to me and unless it is heavy and persistent which wednesdays isn't currently then its just going to end up in disapointment.
