Sublimation. Google it. I searched ‘snow sublimation’ .
Does sublimation give you green grass?
It melted.

Temperature remained around 0c to -1c all day but still slow thaw has occured probably from residual ground warmth so virtually gone now.
Looks like a few frosty days and back to mild rain weekend now
-
-
Slight dusting here of just under 1 cm and looks to have cleared us now.
Back to FI watching (currently 24 hours)
-
Steady drizzle snow here I may see a cm if this goes on more than 12 hours
Few lucky ones in north east of our region though!

Hey everyone! How are we all? Just signed in for the first time this year.. took me a while to figure out how to post.. had to “join” the group.. what’s that about?! Can’t believe I’ve been a member for 14 years
How’s everyone doing? Feeling Christmassy yet? Excited for the cold?
We await our first snow flake
It's been so long since we had a decent winter....

There is actually frost on the cars!
Nothing here I am still waiting for my first frost.
Models starting to get my interest but staying skeptical as decembers hopes are still clouded by dec 2010 and snow is super rare sea level west country.

Data capture and publish or pure "View only"?
I've had great service and assistance from these guys https://weatherspares.co.uk/
I'd like Data capture and publish. Thankyou Dorest I will look into them.
Cheers.

Nasty wet day today but winter is coming!
So quick question.... anyone recommend weather station for around 300 quid?
Would love a vantage pro 2 but need to wait a couple of years.

This dry weather is getting on my nerves... I need rain for garden, been watering it every day or so trying g to save veggies and flowers but now we have this wind drying everything out too.

Seen first flakes of the winter/spring season so far.
Great to get a reminder of what it looks like even if it is rather pathetic

Do you reckon, timing on this is going to be critical, and it's positioning, with some consensus about it slipping slightly more eastwards, as it heads south, so possibly less than "A Cat in Hells chance" comes to mind right now.
After this mornings outputs those hopes are fading but lucky few may see a few flakes in the street light if they are up late enough...

First and last chance of the winter season to see a glimpse of a snow flake?
-
Lost four panes of glass from greenhouse in last nights wind, replaced with spares I wonder what it will look like friday lunchtime..
-
Not a huge number of lightning strikes on the net weather radar currently but some impressive ppn intensity showing up. Hopefully it develops as it moves inland.

One would think we're about to get a pasting anywhere East of the Bristol channel looking at the radar, but it's so underwhelming lol
The beast from the east has arrived I can report I have seen 3 flakes in space of last 5 mins!
One for the history books for sure.

Looking at the radar, I would normally be expecting to see some light - moderate snow falling within next hour or so, as the slightly heavier (but still not really heavy) PPN currently over Somerset heads in.
Judging by reports from people in Somerset though, not much is actually hitting the ground. So I expect much the same here.
Heavier ppn is over mendips now and friends from up there inform me it is just the occasional flake in wind.
Weakening fast as it heads east I dont think we have a chance.

Think it just updated on mine.
Has not moved the ppn much further north east though.
