  1. Thick fog has set in here, thoroughly miserable day, really. Temp reached a max of 4.0oC.
  2. Snow disappearing fast here, it's 3.70C and rising, along with light rain falling.
  3. We're quite 'mild' here on the Hill at 2.9oC, snow has been turning to slushy stuff all day, it's quite patchy on the ground. It's pretty cloudy here so not anticipating much of a freeze.
  4. Malvern very much at the 'edge' of yesterday's action, with just 3 cm on the Hills. Took this picture overlooking Great Malvern, looking towards the SE, you can see the freezing fog:
  5. Thaw's begun here, temperature's at 0.5oC, can hear dripping coming from outside.
  6. Ooh new thread! Snow's pretty much stopped here in Malvern, temp is slowly rising, now at -0.6oC. We have around 3 cm total, from what I can see on level surfaces.
  7. Phew! Walked on the Malverns just behind the house - this is Great Malvern as you look down on it from the north end of the Hills: And here is me with about 15 layers of clothes. The snow isn't very deep, just a cm, it's blowing round so much it's making it harder to settle evenly, also the flake size has decreased.
  8. LOL! Should be OK, have seen other walkers go by, our property backs onto the Hill. It is blowing a gale though, won't be very nice!
  9. Snowing steadily for the past hour or so in Malvern. The wind is really whipping it up so it's not lying uniformly. It's -2.0oC currently. Going out in around half an hour to take some snapshots on the Hill.
  10. Oooh big flakes coming down now! And it's much heavier.
  11. Our light snow stopped here for awhile, was being blown about in the strong wind and not really settling properly. Now it's started with some very fine stuff. Still waiting for the 'big event' really. Temp at -1.5oC
  12. First few flakes have started drifting down in West Malvern. Temp -1.4oC.
  13. Ditto. I think it'll be so late in the day by the time the back edge of the front moves through the west part of our region that the temperatures will be low enough to keep snow going till it stops, leaving us all with a blanket of snow. Thaw will not set in until Sunday as temperatures begin to rise.
  14. Wow looks like this snow event is really going to happen! From watching the BBC forecast just now it looks like between noon-1 pm that it'll reach us in Malvern. Plenty of cloud gathering to the west already. Whoohoo! Good luck everyone for lots of snow if that's what you're wanting.
  15. Woke up, had to check how things are progressing! -5.1oC currently here, as usual, a bit 'milder' here on the Hills.
  16. LOL! Do we need a Michael Fish or would that result in 'A woman in Leicester has said there's a blizzard on the way, don't worry there isn't' ?
  17. -3.9oC, temp appears to have stabilised in the past couple of hours and isn't going down further.
  18. Can't wait till tomorrow, hope Malvern's in with a good shot at getting dumped on. -4.0oC here already.
  19. Wut!?? Has Leicester's snow shield been deactivated? :o Sun's come up here now, I can see white Welsh mountains in the far distance! Must check the Welsh thread, have they had snow?
  20. A very cold -6.0oC here at the moment, that's the lowest we've had this winter. I'll bet surrounding areas are even colder as we tend to be milder at night on the Hill at this elevation whilst the cold air pools lower down. I see Hereford is colder!
  21. Was -4.0oC overnight here, still at -1.0oC now, has clouded over almost completely in the last hour, clouds coming from the East. Wonder if we'll get a snow flurry this far west?
  22. Pffffffffffffffffft! Well I tried to redress the balance, so to speak, so googled 'male model snow' only I ended up with articles about the longevity of male snow crabs! This will have to do:
  23. Morning! LOLOL would love to read that! I may be adding my own 2 penneth of pigswill at a later date.
  24. Very cold here in Malvern, currently -3.8oC. AJ - as a member here who isn't up on all the models, etc, I enjoy reading what others post but have only limited understanding. I keep meaning to read the threads explaining it all when I get a few spare moments. Even so, I'd be scared to post anything model-related as I'm sure a bunch of people would jump in and disagree, and I'm not experienced enough to argue! So I hope I can continue to post any weather updates from my location, I promise I will try to figure out the models and other atmospheric stuff but I'm not as quick mentally as I used to be!
  25. I know, just saw it! He's hedging his bets, mild air might win so we'll get rain or cold air and we'll get a dumping of snow by the weekend! Fingers crossed for the latter.
