  1. Leicester snow shield still holding firm then? I hope it's going to thaw out here, I've got to go out in a few hours, don't want to fall flat on my face on the ice.
  2. No sign of any white stuff from the sky this morning - looks very icy out though with the slush from yesterday frozen over. Just 0.5oC here. Don't think those streamers coming in are reaching this far inland.
  3. Well, just had a heavy snow shower as it was getting dark, began as wet flakes that didn't settle but now they have, white everywhere again! Guess it was just luck that intense small band of precipitation moving down caught us, as the temp dropped to 0.
  4. LOL Hooverman! Yes, I expect they do although it's only a scant covering. Still snowing at the moment although it's not sticking on the road, but it is on trees, etc.
  5. Well, disappointing here in West Malvern, certainly had one cm of wet snow, so it's white out, but that's about it. I doubt it will survive long as the temperature rises (currently -0.2oC). Didn't get as much snow as I was expecting earlier in the week. On the bright side, at least other half can get to work!
  6. Would they be so mean as to take all the precipitation for themselves without leaving any over for us lot? Temp still falling here, 1.8oC - must be turning sleety soon.
  7. Temp has been falling since the rain arrived here - now at 2.0oC. @Hooverman: gosh yes I'd forgotten to watch that blob out there, yes I reckon it could save the day for the W.Midlands!
  8. Raining a little harder now, still no sign of sleetiness, 2.3oC
  9. What do people do with themselves if they're not into weather watching? Now 2.5oC, rain a little heavier now, I'd call it 'light' rather than 'very light'.
  10. I seriously hope you're right! Temperature is falling ever so slightly, 2.9oC now. Anyway our elevation on the Hill usually helps, but it won't if the rain keeps south!
  11. I have a nasty feeling looking at the radar that the 'good stuff' is staying south of where I am, anyway. Looks to be heading eastwards already.
  12. Just starting very light rain here, 3.0oC exactly. *bites fingernails*
  13. But of course! This. So fed up of seeing any precipitation skirt around the Hills. We've been positively arid here over summer/autumn, only recently seen a little more rain and even then I'd say we're way under for the annual average.
  14. Cornflake Girl! Hooverman! *waves* Hey you two! Yes I think Other Half's journey to work tomorrow might be problematic too. Even if the snow isn't as widespread as was first thought, it usually still catches us on this hill due to the altitude. So.... also radar-watching! Have noted that at times of high demand the Met Office website (beta) tends to pull their radar which is really annoying as I prefer it to some of the other sites in terms of its colours. I notice the warning doesn't specify the amount of snowfall expected, usually they say 5-10 cm or something, they're being annoyingly vague.
  15. Ooh that puts Malvern smack in the Amber warning area! Usually if it's going to snow we get it on the Hill. Also, I've got a physio appointment for Saturday so that pretty much tells me we'll get snowed in.
  16. I do! The Malverns, and even this morning there has been the odd flake of snow.
  17. *waves* Hello all, haven't been on here for several months - now Winter is here it's about time I chipped in for good old Malvern! So far, no snow/sleet whatsoever. Even yesterday those beefy showers missed us every time, were just south of us. This morning it's a cold 1.5oC so if anything does fall... however at the moment, once again nothing here as yet. Biting cold wind, too. Hoping for more 'action' by the end of the week!
  18. Fine start to the day but convective clouds are building up quickly to the west and southwest of us in Malvern. Can see them gathering across Herefordshire as I type and coming westwards towards us. Could potentially give us some showers in a couple of hours if they continue to build. Currently 14.2oC, humidity at 73%.
  19. The only rumbles here are from the RAF doing low flying exercises! <_< Have got an eye on that thin band showing on the radar that stretches up from NW France. Am wondering whether that might impact Worcestershire later on or whether it'll move further East.
  20. I can imagine the frequent towns and roundabouts one encounters in the UK really slow any chase down, also the amount of trees in this country must make it harder to see a clear skyline. Brilliant to see storm chasing in the UK though - hope you can get some good footage here!
  21. Not in west Malvern, although just to the north west of us the sky is filthy black. We've only had a few drops of rain so far, the radar indicates any rain is just missing us.
  22. Getting light rain now in West Malvern, sky's looking very dark to the south west.
  23. ROFL! Brilliant. Am watching now - not quite Texas but hopefully he'll catch some storm action.
  24. Evening all Looks like any chance of a sharp shower or storm is going to by-pass Malvern...
