Interesting tweet from Matt Hugo, made me smile anyway.

Today's ECMWF "freebie" is the Reading Meteogram - Worth a view - http://www.ecmwf.int/samples/d/getchart/catalog/samplers/banner/epsgram_at_reading!epsgram.gif … | Maintains cold signal until next weekend.
Nothing really to report from Grimsby at the moment. We have a covering on cars and a tiny but on the grass but thats about it. Current temperatures are around 0 including the dew points. Im not sure how much snow to expect tonight and tomorrow but an inch or two would be very welcome.
If the temperatures around around freezing they will be a much higher chance of any snow settling on wet ground. If Temps are higher, say around 2/3 then heavy stuff is needed.
I really hope so mate. I don't buy the warm north sea theory as we have done well during Novembers/Decembers when the North sea is generally warmer than it is now. I am sure its the Dew point that are the issue at the minute.
Here you go, just click the temeperature over Scunny and it will bring up the details, Its good because it shows other areas too.

Dew points could be a problem mate. They really need to be below zero. I have checked the weather station in Scunny and it shows 0 degree so you are getting there.
Have a little faith guy. We in Grimsby are currently having steady snow, be it very wet with temperatures around 1.6 with dew of 1.5. Tomorrow should have better conditions....hopefully.
Call me sad but I will have the radar on my laptop and blinds open in the bedroom. I've got a streetlight out side and is very useful when watching the snow at night.
Your suggestions also fit in with what Liam Dutton suggests on twitter

Subject to change, but Monday's snow most likely for Scotland, central, E'ern & N'ern Eng. 3-7cm low levels, 10-15cm higher hills.
Just seen latest news 24 forecast, pretty good it was too! Snow showers doen eastern side tomorrow afternoon onwards, snow across the midlands south area. She went on to show what monday could like and had most areas under a sheet of white!!
Are the GFS precipitation charts trustworthy? The reason I ask is that most of the convection shows from the 12z run seem to be graetly reduced on this run.
