  1. It's approx 80% full, according to water co site. And it is not the only water supply for the area. These twatter divs dont really look into full picture for areas re water supply.
  2. Absolute baloney. Not in mid-August. It's norm for reservoirs to be below 100% capacity in the Summer. And many areas in the UK, get water supplies from other sources, aside from their reservoirs. A lot to learn Addicks.
  3. What??!! Where do u get this from? IMBY Total reservoir storage 14/08/2023 The total reservoir storage for the Bristol Water area is at 81%. On the same date in 2022, storage was at 57%. 81% mid-August is pretty impressive. No probs locally, going forward.
  4. Pretty much the same here, although sun's been out for last hour.
  5. Raining again, 19c. I think this is 5 Saturdays out of last 6 where weather's been naff. Still, pretty average for Summer, i guess
  6. Just had a brief shower here, as well. Chucking it down, now.
  7. Cloudy, 19c. The sun made an appearance early doors, but is hidden now, by the thick cloud.
  8. I've got a few Doom Bars for later this eve.
  9. Yep. My reply post was aimed at the general use of supplements, not specifically Vit D ones. These co.s sell every supplement under the sun, and vast maj just arent needed or effective.
  10. They're both Wellness co.s flogging....erm..... Supplements. Slight vested interest me thinks. Arguably, from a medical perspective, many medical pros would argue that these supplements just arent needed or beneficial to the vast maj of the pop. 11. 21c, still cloudy. Warm enough, but would be nice to see the sun.
  12. People worry too much. I expect there are many of us who get enough Vit D and still get colds. It aint a magic health bullet. Jeez i had a full week of naturally induced Vit D last June ('22) in Portugal and 2 days after getting home went down with covid (albeit milder than a heavy cold). Despite me posting my own thoughts if anyone really is worried or need advice go to see your GP. Many of these other health gurus, whether in person or online, likely have vested interests in promoting this supplement and that supplement. Weather today - thick grey cloud, muggy, 19c here.
  13. Hmm...seems some peeps have forgotten food intake i.e. diet. One egg/day will give you nearly half your required level of daily Vit D, for example. Instead of peeps popping pills all the time, esp you young 'uns, look to your diet, as well. So, basically, if anyone is popping 4000 IU every day, in form of pills, then you're likely exceeding 'safe' levels, because of certain food items you consume. And, more importantly, in Summer on a sunny day, you get your required level of Vit D with just 15 minutes of lower arm exposure to sunlight. Take care
  14. Vit D supps. I quoted 400 iu/day, in Late Autumn/Winter. Peeps on here, i've noticed, have said they pop 4000 iu/day. You really shouldnt need that much. From the NHS website: 10 micrograms a day will be enough for most people. That is equiv of 400 iu/day.
  15. Ok, i started popping Vit D pills for 1st time in my life in Mid-Autumn 2021. Winter 20/21, despite the no mixing dictat, i caught 4 or 5 colds. So, for Autumn/Winter 21/22 i decided to pop the Vit D. Repeated it last Winter as well. Seems to have kept the colds away, as well, during the Winter. Most peeps only need 1 tab of 400 iu. You dont need 4000 iu. Mine are from Holland&Barrett. 1 tab taken with food, preferably a meal with some fat in it. I only pop 'em Mid-Oct to April.
  16. according to some, back in early June, we were meant to be on a rinse & repeat, on the Spanish plume front this Summer. And right now peeps are looking at the CFS and its ilk, for charts this coming Winter, in the Winter forecasts thread. Folks in here will never learn.
  17. The sun Warm outside right now at 19c; the breeze is warm, as well.
  18. Erm...but it hasnt been plumey, far from it. In fact, July, and into first few days of August, were about as far from the 'experts' (???) Pre-Summer views on UK 2023 Summer weather as one could get.
  19. Yep, a lot of cloud; my earlier optimism is being tested.
  20. Early morning cloud burning off now, temp up to 18c. We're forecast sun and cloud today and a high of 22c. So a decent, typical August Summer's day. After tomorrow's rain the forecast for the following few days looks pretty decent for here, without being hot. Enjoy
  21. I think the issue comes with the fact that July was so dire. For here, Meto stated 'we' were Below average temp Below average sunshine hours Well above average rainfall. If we'd had a week of naff, followed by a week of decent weather, and so on, then the perception becomes clearer of it being just pretty norm summer weather. But 'The Bad' was heavily concentrated in the 4 weeks from early July to early August. The CET argument's been done to death over last few weeks. Firstly, it only represents Central England and secondly, because the nights weren't overly cold it hid the fact that many days had well below average daytime temps.
