  1. Nope. 11.15am - 16c is about average for 2nd half of Sept, here. In fact, for here, the average daily temp for Sept goes from 19/20c 1st half, to 16c later in Sept.
  2. 16c, sun and clouds, showers expected this afters. A very typical September day, for these parts.
  3. Heat pumps are useless if temps outside are below freezing. The technology draws in very cold air and then 'distributes' not very warm air inside. On a very cold day or night it's like leaving your fridge door open and hoping the air will eventually warm up! Plus, imagine a street of 50 houses, all with their heat pumps running - you'd think you were suddenly living on an industrial estate - the din would be unbearable. Still, the other 'lot', hoping to get in power, from 2024 will reverse Sunak's announcement. Maybe they will tell the vast majority of UK folk how they can afford electric cars, and replace their very efficient and warming gas central heating and boilers with useless and expensive-to-install heat pumps. I'll look forward to another 'pledge' which will get watered down or abandoned by the other 'lot' (to add to the Famous Ten already ditched by SKS).
  4. No surprise, whatsoever, to see the 2030 'deadline' put back to 2035. The main issue remains though, as i posted back in April - currently, EVs are just too expensive for c80% of the car-driving population, and who'd trust a 2nd-hand EV, if Qs remains about its existing battery life? The major car manufacturers were whinging earlier today about the decision - no surprise, as they make a shedload of profit out of EVs. Granted their plans are already in place, so i can also see their point. Anecdotal - our lad has a hybrid; the car wouldnt charge during the v hot days earlier this month, due to the heat.
  5. Autumn's really blown in here, this morn. 17c, chucking it down, blowing a hoolie. Much better than unseasonal warmth and sun, isnt it?
  6. I'm just looking forward to the dry, sunny, warm 'bit'; would love October to be the same, as well.
  7. Spanish Meto The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) have revealed that they recorded the hottest summer in the Canary Islands this year since records began and predict that autumn will also be warmer than usual. According to data, the Archipelago experienced a "very warm" or "extremely warm" summer with an average temperature of 23.4°C, which is 1.6°C above the norm for the time of year, making it the hottest summer since 1961 when records in the Canary Islands began.
  8. Not jealous, at all, Dan. 16c and grey, murky, damp here. Why dont you post one of your infamous 'stock' photos of blue sky and your back garden?
  9. Nope, it isnt. It's just a cold - tested myself this morn. And crucially, no blinding headache. Seems peeps forget that common cold symptoms are v similar.
  10. Revolting weather this morn. 15c, raining, dark. Autumn decides to become .....Autumn. Adding to the gloom i have a stinking cold and a throat that feels like it's been sandpapered, despite me having no tonsils. Still, it kicks the "Get plenty of Vit D" theory into touch - i've had 2 weeks of a Vit D overdose
  11. We're up to 23c now; sun and clouds, but cloud cover increasing. V warm for mid-Sept in these parts.
  12. 21c, sunny with wispy high cloud, a nice breeze. Feeling more like high 20s sat in suntrap back garden. Warm, for here, in mid-Sept. More of this, well into October please. Luverly
  13. 20c, cloudy, muggy. But managed to cut the grass after 2 weeks out of the country. The cut was like the 1st one in early Spring! Couldnt believe how long it was, but abs full of weeds and clover. The damned lawn was only re-laid 5 years ago and it's a right mess.
  14. Love spiders, but my wife hates 'em - "Chuck it out! Chuck it out!".
  15. 14c and sunny. A good day to dry the hoilday washing. Arrived home yday eve and i was surprised how normal the temp was inside the house, after the Sept heatwave. Opened all windows and the house was cool within an hour. I had expected the heat to have stayed in the house, but no. Thankfully.
  16. 23c here, mainly sunny, some high wispy cloud about. High humidity though, at 82%, which makes it feel more like 32c. Enjoy the day, folks
  17. Too hot for me, Dan, these days. My tolerance to temps past about 28c is waning. I dont mind it down here or in Fuerteventura because it's more than often a dry heat with an Atlantic breeze. And i put up with it in the Caribbean, because, well, one has to. 30c at home, usually (quickly) becomes stifling and our house gets too hot, unless the late evening cools quickish. Enjoy!
  18. Still have max temps of 23/24c here. A few degrees under what we've experienced in previous 12 years or so, for here, in early Sept. Humidity was up at 80% though and in full sun it felt more like 32c! Been sunny with cloud cover coming and going, but still managed to escape any showers that may have been in the vicinity. Fully expecting the house to be stifling back home, for when we return next Tues. Enjoy your 30c temps folks and stifling rooms; having just spoken to out lad via vid call they're fed up of the high temps, with the kids not sleeping great and waking up early.
  19. 24c, mainly sunny but can see a few showers out at sea. Biggest change here today is the humidity; has shot up to 84% according to local weather forecast on my phone.
