  1. 19c, cloudy with sunny intervals, breezy. Showers were forecast from 10 this morn, but havent materialised. The sky does look more threatening now, so guess they'll be here soon.
  2. Charts 4/5 months away...hmm locally, this Summer, we've had some dramatic forecast fails less than 24 hours away
  3. Grey, murky, 16c here, in Torquay. U couldnt make it up! A few days away from Bristol, fed up with the weather and just needed a change of environ, and now i'm missing best 2 days of the last few weeks weatherwise, back home.
  4. Grey, cloudy, Murky, 17c here in Torquay
  5. Torquay. Nice hotel we've used for years, excellent food. Usually pop out in car in the day over to Dartmouth, Torcross, etc.
  6. Well, we're off to The English Riviera this morn for 3 days; weather looks ok, nowt hot or brill, but dry (after this morn), and in context of the last few weeks i'll take it. Just needed to get away from the house, Tipping Point and The Chase. Warmer, sunnier climes beckon, in 3 weeks time
  7. Yeah, it's clouded over here now. Was beautiful just 30 mins ago.
  8. Kinda hoping my neck of the woods 'slips into' the SE part of the set up
  9. Not a bad day today, one brief v light shower.
  10. Clouded right over; that gorgeous sun didnt last long
  11. Gorgeous here now. Actually feels v warm in suntrap back garden
  12. 18c here this morn, sunny intervals but lots of cloud about, as well. Decent enough for early Aug, esp after last few weeks.
  13. Well, we did have a few drier slots. Like i said earlier it wasnt even stormy here; well, not by my definition anyway. This 'storm' was born of the softie times. "Ooh, take care risk averse of the UK; there's some wind and rain about today".
  14. Come to Fuerteventura. In the eve, if it's windy, the locals (and Italian expats) will don padded jackets, even if it's still 22/23c. To them wind=jacket time. The wife and I are usually strolling down the main drag in summer gear; shorts and polo top for me, and a dress or skirt/blouse combo for the Boss.
  15. Shorts and polo shirt today, for me. I even sat in the garden this afters, in between showers, just to get some fresh air. It was still 17c at the time; by 5 oclock the northerly had set in and temps quickly dipped to 14c.
  16. Oh, and when is this storm meant to arrive?
  17. Same here. I'm currently sat in the living room, (the wife's just gone to bed) after watching 3 episodes of Yellowstone on Paramount+, and i have 2 windows open. Someone else posted that their heating's on? Really?
  18. The crystal ball method has as much chance of being correct as the teleconnections-based ones, looking back over this Summer's LRFs and guesswork.
  19. Yep, feels distinctly cold out there now and, at last, the strong winds have arrived here. If they could blow my neighbour's tree down, as it's in full leaf, that would be nice. The ignorant flocker has refused to manage it and cut it back for years. It now imposes on both us and our next door neighbour - about 30ft tall, almost the same wide. Blocks out evening light and high summer sun (not that we've had much this Summer).
  20. Ok, i know a depression like this is unusual in early August, but a 'storm'?! I was in Aberystwyth in August '79, on hols with a pal and his fam. This was the week of the Fastnet yacht race disaster, 19 peeps lost their lives. Now that WAS a storm; in fact, a week weather-wise that was worse than any of the last 5 weeks.
  21. Yep. It lashed it down 10 minutes after that post. Monsoon-like torrent appeared on our road. It's surprisingly calm here though; just a breeze really
  22. Blue sky appearing, together with the sun. Epic storm this. Is this a lull, in the lull, in the lull? Apologies, i'm losing track of the number of lulls mentioned in last few weeks.
  23. Anyone know when this storm is meant to arrive?
