  1. Oh defo. Sat by the pool in full sun and it feels like 30c. 2 weeks in The Algarve or 2 weeks sat at home in SG or Bristol? Hmmm...
  2. Just seen a vid from a friend who owns a hotel in Corfu - absolute torrential rain there today.
  3. Stunning day here. Temp of 23c, a nice breeze. Not as hot as 'at home' but good enough esp as forecast is wrong again.
  4. Oh, it's been nice enough and we've escaped the showers. I know further North from here it's been worse on and off the last few days. And up they go!
  5. 21c, mainly sunny, but threat of showers remains. Expected 'high' of 23c today. Yesterday eve after dinner the bar we use was packed inside, as it was too cold outside with a strong breeze. At 10.00pm last night air temp was only 18c, but the wind chill made it feel more like 12/13c. Very unusual for The Algarve in early Sept.
  6. 20c, sunny, a few clouds in the distance and a cool breeze for this time of the year 'down here'. Dodged the showers though; weather forecasters off the mark for 2nd day running here. At the mo The Algarve coastal towns are escaping the deluge hitting parts of Spain from this Iberian Low. We could see plenty of 'high riser' clouds from here, prob about 20 miles inland from the Algarve coast, that looked laden with storms. Likely Silves, Messines area i reck.
  7. Well, yday turned out gorgeous, no rain or showers, and a high of 25c, clear blue skies. So hoping the same happens today.
  8. Only 19c this morning and high of only 21c forecast for today. Cool for The Algarve in early Sept. Showers are forecast; we seem to be less affected by the Iberian Low, compared to Spain.
  9. Yeah, been coming here for same 2 weeks in Sept for prob 12, maybe 13 years, and usually we might get one day of rain or showers.
  10. Usually nearer 28c down here, The Algarve, in early Sept with no threat of rain or showers. Showers and thunderstorms forecast for next few days as the drier, hotter weather 'migrates' to Blighty.
  11. 24c, sunny, breezy. The forecast showers never arrived today. Next few days look dodgy though.
  12. Clouds rolling in from the West here, ahead of tomorrow's forecast thundery showers.
  13. 24c, clear blue skies but looks like the UK will be 'stealing' the good weather - we have thundery showers forecast from Sunday to Wednesday. We've been visiting The Algarve in early Sept since 2010 and normally see little rain, maybe one day out of the 2 weeks. Looks like we're in for worst few days since holidaying here.
  14. 30c, sunny, breezy. A typical Algarve day
  15. Yes. The equiv flight today, took off from Bristol on time. The plane actually is an early one coming in from Faro, then turnaround takes us out there, leaving at 09.10 tom...hopefully.
  16. Just tuned in to TNT sports to watch the Spurs/Bournemouth match and can see it's torrential. We've got away with it here, so far today. Cloud and Sun, 18c.
  17. Agreed. For here June 9/10 July 2/10 August 6/10
  18. 16c, cloudy, grey and a distinct chill to the wind.
  19. That's certainly true of my neck of the woods, and confirmed by UK Meto. July, for here, was summarised by Meto as Below sunshine levels/hours expected for July Below average temps Way, way above expected rainfall levels. August has been better though, and by (my) perception, abs typical for August.
  20. For some i guess. It's more of a cost of living challenge for many though i.e. revaluate spend, prioritise, etc. You only have to look at travel abroad this Summer. From the UK it's back to pre-2019 levels. The holiday co.s are back in profit. And so are the airlines. That also says a lot imho.
  21. Wouldnt surprise me. Popped to Torquay a couple of weeks back. Small family run hotel at Meadfoot. We've been using it for years, but usually Autumn/Winter time. Service second to none and a great young chef who cooks from locally sourced farms, etc in Devon. Well, they've had a quiet Summer. There was plenty availability along the South coast when i first looked a few weeks back. I suspect many peeps went back off abroad this year, esp after the Home holiday market ripped us all off when everything reopened up post-restrictions. Some of the prices, at 'home', in Spring/Summer '21 were an absolute rip-off! If my analysis is correct serves 'em right.
  22. 21c already here, although forecast indicates it wont get much higher today. Sunny earlier but high level cloud has moved in during last 30 mins. Radar prediction indicates we should miss any showers. Hope so, as i'm off down Glos Rd, Bristol this afters to sink a few bevvies and have a Hobs burger with dirty fries, with my ex-work pal.
  23. I used to pop up to The City once every few weeks, when i was working. A walk from The Bank to Old Broad Street. Loved the lunchtime buzz, grabbing lunch in a pub a few mins walk to near Liverpool St - cant remember the name of it.
