So i'll post what he's said shall I?
"New UKMO model output has snow mostly Bath eastwards - E Glos and Wilts focal point."
As if we didn't know already.
Latest BBC news24 graphics, right now, look feeble for us in BTL - maybe midnight to 3.00am -
but east of our region, SE Cotswolds, Swindon, Dorset looks good
If you look on the radar showing the UK, you can quite clearly see two large bands of precipitation - one to the West (affecting us) and another just to our East - there's a gap right down the middle of the UK.
The one to our East is colder air with snow - we're in the Western one, less cold and rain.
Reports of snow in Wilts and Glos - not far from here - will it get here eventually?
The main band in the East wasn't really forecast less than 24 hours ago - a dodgy forecast from the Pros IMO this last 24 hrs.
Ian F just on - cr#p with a capital C - it's more of an eastern event (of our region) and it clears away much quicker than at first forecast - graphics sh#te!
Now where's that Azores High?
To be fair, when it's such a downgrade it ain't worth having. At one point yday eve it looked like we could almost 12 hours of the stuff. I'm in a pessimistic mood tonite - is it obvious?
Yep!
Wilts looks like one of the sweet spots from latest forecast i saw earlier
So does that mean your appearances in the Model Disc Thread will be severely curtailed from now on? LOL - Only joking - fair play to you TEITS i have a lot of time for your inputs on NW.
Looks to be a damp squib here - the awful winter in our area goes on!
That BBC forecast had a small area of snow around the BTL area - last night there was a massive blob stretching all over our region in SE Wales, West Midlands, etc - we WERE in a sweet spot - now we're forecast to get the dregs.
In fact i think precipitation amounts will be well down anywhere in the country, compared to last night's forecasts
Massive downgrade for some of our region, if you believe BBC news 24 weather. Just watched the one at 17.57.
Snow heads south from Midlands into Wilts and dorset - BTL area gets the dregs!
In fact it doesn't look as intense as it showed last night for anywhere! Damp squib! Defo!
Light rain here in Stoke Gifford, North BTL.
If i remember rightly the forecast 48 hrs ago, for this eve and tonight, was for a rain to snow event for us - the models seem to have reverted to what they were predicting 2 days ago for the next 24 hours.
It's also worth mentioning that the main precipitation was always forecast to hit around midnight to early hours - and as i said last night if this snow event turns out to be a damp squib i'd rather this 'halfway-house coldish/lack of snow' weather would s#d off and we get an early warm Spring.
Light rain here in North Bristol.
Thinking back 48 hours this is what was predicted for us, before turning to snow thru' the night and then fizzling out just before dawn.
It seems the actual weather is mirroring what was predicted 48 hours ago, as opposed to this time yday eve when it looked like we were in a 'sweet spot' for snow tonight.
About the SW movement of the band - wasn't it predicted to happen thru' the night anyway and not at this time? Maybe that's why there's minimal west/SW movement now. Just wondering.
To be honest i'm quite a relaxed sort of guy - and how some on here get all uptight about the weather makes me laugh sometimes - it really does!
I genuinely couldn't give a doo-dah about what the models say - it's the weather at the time that matters (and not that much really either).
Computer model runs are full of inaccuracies a lot of the time - makes me wonder how the people feeding the data into them keep their jobs to be honest.
Where's Mullender tonite?
Keep him away from this thread tomorrow - let's have a whip round and send him on a flight out of BTL airport tom afternoon to the Alps skiing!!
Guaranteed snow for all in these parts then!!
Take care on the bet for England next manager - why?
Because it's next PERMANENT England manager at the bookies.
And i reckon the next manager will be a temporary replacement.
