What a fantastic post, showing your worth there my old boy

I'v came out the shadows after 2 years, I allowed my personal life to leak through and became nagative rather than constructive, so for the good of the forum I took a break!

So after, a marriage break down, a mental break down, a bankruptcy, a house loss, I'm back lol, happier it's all over and as a single lad and know nagging wife behind my back I can come back and pick up my obsession of winter cold!!!!

Promise to add meaning and illustration to my posts moving forward to a put a smile on you all and hopefully bring a 3 wk period of severe winter weather with disruption to travel

Good to see you back old mucca sorry to here you've gone through such a horrid time ive been there so know how it feels....looking forward to your informative and excitable inputs

Agree. Again why has this been so difficult to forecast by the models/professionals??

I mentioned earlier how deplorable both bbc and met office forecasts and giving the fact we pay for this service I do feel we are getting short change

  3. I don’t think I can remember a time when forecasting from the met office and bbc has been so poor as it has been this last 18 months . I actually belive weekly forecast were more accurate in the 90s than they are now , it says it all really when  both our main forecasters use different models the give us a forecast ...... and to tho k we pay for this too

  4. I will say as I have before only  to be shot down in flames I belive both the Met Office and BBC have performed quite poorly for 18mnths now forecasts used to be much more accurate prior to this .maybe too many models to look at or information to feed into there computers..... just saying

In all fairness we are in a colder spell right now.

Think this thread would be better being called "The hunt for 5ft of snow and the rainbow coloured unicorn".

wonderful post and so true I went to bed at 12 last night and reading posts in here you think we were going into an ice age and 7 hours later its all doom and gloom.

Matt it's 8pm, the air is cold enough for snow to lower levels. The Irish sea is alive, give it time

Unfortunately my old mucca convection is low and winds light through the Irish Sea so whilst they will continue to form due to sea and land temps differential they won’t have much legs to gain or sustain across land some sweet spots will enjoy a couple of cms the majority will miss out
