Very light snow falling here in Evashum but my eye is keenly on the development in the wash that's definitely not forecast. Seems quite strong and building in land aswel. Wait and see i guess!
And breaking up in East midlands my old school friend

Hi Paul yours is perfect and you have created that with little or no money, it does grief me when you think of the money pumped into the MET that that's the best service they can give the public.

Just a real bug bear of mine really but would like to hear other peoples opinion, it has to be one of the most awkward outdated and user Unfriendly tools I have ever seen and shame on met office for not doing something about it

Could be a contender for wettest February on record, I expect flood warnings issued during early Feb
I have seen many a winter and without doubt this will go down as the most disappointing just 1 day of falling snow and that produced a scarce dusting. now a February of Atlantic drive dross

I just get the feeling it will never happen this winter for the UK . A very mild and wet start to February for most of UK apart from the SE which might hang on to the cold dank weather a bit longer yet.

Calamity imminent...vast majority now removed from met office warnings...extreme coasts only now....you couldn't make it up.
You have to remember the warnings are for disruption potential, doesn't mean anywhere out side of these areas wont get snow.

Thanks Nick , think there could be a few surprises coming from this relatively short lived spell

Said it for sometime now !! some people have been banging on about models showing nothing but cold for the last couple of weeks and how it could last for weeks and here we are today breaking daytime max in some pars of uk. I am afraid its gong to be a long wet and windy winter .

So a chilly end to Autumn and a couple of frosty starts to winter but here come the default UK winter and all its mushy mildness . The models have done there best to give us some false hope of a cold winter but once the Atlantic breaks through its going to be a long hard road back to anything cold. enjoy what we have while it lasts folks.

No snow here at Alvechurch as expected this time of year tbf nice cold crispy days and nights though. Got a horrible feeling this year will be a disappointment for snow again though.

I think this is the much more likely scenario (BBC) it is funny to see such cold ramps going on when the reality is so much diffrent

I do pop in to model thread and add a few exasperated words about the constant banging on and excitement about pressure chats beyond 3days . The met office on there surface pressure chart page say they have low confidence on any charts beyond 5 days so good points made above. I'll stick to the BBC week ahead forecast rather than getting hung up on volatile model outputs
