  1. yes, i'm watching the superbowl as well! and yes, it is snowing here now too! maybe give it half an hour more and one more radar update....
  2. i was actually on the IOW this afternoon and there was about an hour of pretty solid snow, which didn't settle. i rushed home at about 90mph expecting fireworks - i won't do that again. Having said that, from that radar image, there does look to be a line of more organised snow pushing into berks/south oxfordshire. I can but hope..or go to bed. edit...it is snowing here now, almost properly!
  3. i honestly thought when i moved up here 6 years ago from the IOW that it could only be better! i'm wrong! hopefully, the troughs will form tomorrow and we'll be ok. it is an extraordinary thing, though. snow going north and south of us!
  4. it's ludicrous. this really is the most desperate thing - should i cling on to some faint hope for tomorrow? Drayton is at least a mile from abingdon so maybe that will make all the difference.
  5. i can't believe we're going to miss this - the weather radar (now back up) surely suggests we will see some. doesn't it? actually, it has started to snow tentatively now....
  6. so, snowing in Ayelsbury - surely we're next? why am i still not able to see the met office radar properly?
  7. i know! especially when i'm on the Island. still snowing at a rate of about 1 flake/30 seconds. It still counts, though. i'm still refusing to get excited about tomorrow - if anywhere will miss out it will be south oxfordshire
  8. well, snowing here now (Ryde Isle of Wight) - some very small snow grains...edit - heavier now!
  9. yes, felt a lot colder on my bike to work this morning - a real chill in the breeze. It was a bit of a shock actually as last night it felt very mild and damp. A taste of things to come!
  10. looking at the current output, if they were to come off i think you're right! but, sadly, despite being included as south east by the met office, Oxon still needs a massive slice of luck compared to London and even neighbouring counties like Northants. This is the snowless centre of england!
  11. i'll be very very excited and enjoy watching the news reports of all the snow affecting the east of England while i, personally, see a snow flurry for about 10 minutes on monday. (reverse psychology - does it work?)
