  1. There's about a cm on the car, but any cleared concrete surfaces are wet.
  2. Lovely juicy flakes but its too wet! Although the chimneys have turned white now so it could start to accumulate soon if this keeps up.
  3. Should've stayed in Keswick, no new accumulation in the NE. Boo!
  4. The radar is looking rather disappointing too - the snow seems to be fizzling out! Anyway, back to bed for a couple of hours.
  5. Proper blizzard here with the heavy snow and gales, but sadly its too wet to lie really.
  6. I would love it if you were right! I'm coming off here now and I'm not checking any weather forecasts until the morning or else this uncertainty will just kill me! A thin layer of grauple has turned the tyre tracks white again on my street.
  7. After reading all the reports from down south as well as looking at the charts I am going to call this as a sleet and snow mix at my location with no accumulation. We will know if I'm right in the morning!
  8. I concur - although Keswick felt wintry yesterday with the falling snow. The snow amounts seemed to rapidly increase to about an inch as we crossed into Northumberland today on the A69, then up to 2-3 inches east of Hexham, then 4-6 inches east of the A1.
  9. Snow 1 mile away from Cleethorpes in Grimsby. Sounds like wet snow/sleet mix to me, should be snow a couple of miles inland down there.
  10. Yeah, but even with the cooling effect those were the temperatures here on the ground. Hopefully we'll have similar values tomorrow without any such cooling effect. Its pretty windy here now and still snowing, so I have everything crossed for tomorrow! Rain in Hull - the tension continues...
  11. If I heard this noise tomorrow I wouldn't bother rushing to the window, just looked out and its small dry flakes hammering against the window! Phew!
  12. Yes, yes and yes as all 3 will help keep temperatures a little bit lower.
  13. If they're getting snow right on the coast it might give us some hope, although it'll be even more marginal here by tomorrow morning.
  14. Reports of it turning to snow in Skegness now - can't be a bad sign for us! Whoops, too slow!
  15. If you had that tomorrow we might be in business. Temperature of 1°C and DP of 0°C would be incredibly marginal, but even that might be OK for some heavy wet snow and is roughly what I expect to see tomorrow. 29th November 2010 was 1-2°C all day here with a dp of about 0, and apart from some light rain in the evening for an hour it was all heavy snow.
  16. Just had another brief moderate snow shower, again its not wet - I wonder what caused the rain earlier, maybe a small pocket of milder upper air?
