  1. It's like early June all over again except we're about 5c higher! Temp stuck at 21c here with a fresh breeze. Need this high to move east.
  2. Very average day here with us only reaching 21.6c so far and now dropped to 21.2c. Breezy too. Sunny spells at least so a decent summers day. No fans in our bedroom as the sky light does that job very effectively - the duvet even came out later as it got chilly when this wind got going!
  3. Only 21.2c here - nothing like yesterdays almost 26c by this time. Still cloud about - ruddy North Sea it really needs filling with concrete!
  4. Yikes North Sea low cloud is back. Gladly we're on the edge of it but really holding the sun off it is. Thought this might happen now the wind has picked up from the east. Today it should burn off for us but not sure about mid week.
  5. A lovely nights rest with gentle cooling breeze coming through - so much so the duvet came back half way through the night! For a Monday I'm very awake (for anyone that knows me that is *very* rare!) - so so easy to get up when its bright & warm. 17.8c min currently 19.1c. A lot more haze today so sun doesn't feel as powerful as yesterday. Also more of a breeze picking up.
  6. Work with the weather rather than against it if you can't take the heat. Some simple steps like not heading out to the shops in the heat of the afternoon sun work wonders - go out in the early morning or evening when its cooler. Just how folk do who live in warmer climates. Due to its rarity us Brits don't quite get how to behave when its hot - you have to modify your behaviour to match the weather in exactly the same way we do to cope with cold & rain. They all inconvenience but you work round it. I for one am loving it - the house is warm & full of fresh air, we can wear next to nothing (having my good lady in a bikini sure beats her in the jumper complaining about being chilly!) and the swifts seem so happy as the fly around the sky singing. The garden is blooming too! Long may it continue!
  7. 27.1c our max and felt sweltering under the strong afternoon sun. Hangover & being out & about in the afternoon sun doesn't mix so good... but this evening feels just lovely - a warm but less intense sun and comfortable air all around. Still 26.5c here so not lost much yet. Upstairs of the house is boiling though - close to 30c. Should cool off now the sun has dipped behind the hill - for once our shady evening position is of advantage. Feel like this place was designed with this climate in mind!
  8. 27.1c here so far which beats all of last year. A very hot cycle ride especially in the more built up areas - a lot of flesh on show but sadly more of the fat older man type than the young lady type  For once my living is a nice sanctuary to walk into with it holding at just under 25c - and that's literally the warmest its ever been in the 5 years I've been here!
  9. Just shy of 26c here beating yesterdays max and its not even noon yet!
  10. Whereas I am off to my parents place for lunch - a 10 mile return cycle journey. Admittedly its harder today with the hangover I have!
  11. Well we had no problems cycling at 3:30pm for half hour yesterday - lovely ride despite carrying a ton of beer on our backs! Just gotta toughen up a bit - same as you do when its freezing cold (although its def easier in heat than freezing conditions- take this from a regular year round cyclist!). Lovely evening outside without a hint of feeling chilly - such a rare treat in this country. For once my house is rather warm and the bedroom very warm - can't lie in with the sun on the place in mornings that's for sure! Living room never gets above 24c so is very comfortable. Went down to 17.1c outside overnight and is 23.5c already. Hot one coming up!
  12. 25c on the nose here - warmest day of the year and first time hitting 25c. Skies completely clear and that sun is seriously strong! Heading to a bbq this afternoon laden with carry outs of finest ale from a local pub. Heaven!
  13. Whereas I've been sat in the garden collecting seeds from my mizuna plants for replanting... in full sun. Had to come in for a bit as its extremely strong today under the crystal clear skies. 24.4c so far - will we finally make it to 25c? Surely today...
  14. Proper blue skies this morning and a warm start with 16c min and it 21.5c already at 0930. True UK heatwave feel to it this morning!
  15. Yes so very different that we are! At least you get your way the majority of the time - for me this kind of weather perfection is extremely brief and a decent length spell like this hasn't occurred in 7 years! Sorry you're not enjoying it but rest assured it won't last long... we're a cool, damp country so overall if you like damp & cool you'll end up the winner in the UK!
  16. Despite only a 22.7c max it feels like we've just had a proper hot day as this evening feels lovely - warm & humid. So nice walking home with pleasant scents coming off various plants & trees with just the odd bbq on the air... Warm, still and especially humid weather is great at making the air smell nice. So much better than the only outdoor smells being takeaways & traffic! Currently 19c - this is why I like humid weather - you don't need 30c in the day to actually enjoy a pleasant evening!
  17. Seem to have maxed out at 22.7c so can't see the 24c prediction happening here now. Still not reached 25c yet this year!
  18. Outside 22.6c; Greenhouse 22.6c (no sun on it now); Living room: 21.3c; Office: 27c. Going to try to carry some of the office heat home with me on my bike if I can...
  19. 21.9c here and levelling out - still time to rise yet to reach todays predicted 24c. Yesterday was 23.9c under cloudy skies so does seem odd to be cooler under hazy sunny skies! Skies are certainly not blue - perhaps tomorrow. The haze should help keep temps up tonight though so that's a good thing for sitting out and for getting it warmer tomorrow.
  20. 21.4c outdoors. 23.4c in greenhouse (really shows how hazy it is as that isn't that high- managed 35c in there back in April!). 20.9c in the living room.
  21. Sky is not blue here either - very milky. Not stopping the sun of course but filtering it a bit. Perhaps less haze tomorrow as the air dries out?
  22. Very slow rising here - think this haze is reducing the suns power a bit. Still sure it'll make it to the predicted 24c as its 20.2c so far.
  23. All clear here too - feels lovely walking around now. Tomorrow should warm the house up (it's still only around 19-20c today due to lack of sun this morning) then we're finally into proper summer! 23.9c outside today and edging up from now on - great stuff!
  24. Wear what you like... as long as you're happy it ain't no one else business... Although I do think blokes walking around topless isn't really appropriate for the street. Perhaps if women were to do the same that'd make it better!
  25. On the cusp of the best weather in seven years - really very very ready for this! Finally - windows open, shorts on, dinner outside, garden growing like crazy, no need to heat the greenhouse nor living room, pub beer gardens... A total feeling of the outdoors being just like indoors and the garden being like another room of the house. Freedom! No doubt some will complain about the warmth but let 'em - heat (well warmth too) haters have been spoilt for a long time now. Time for warmth & sun lovers to get our precious 2 (maybe) weeks of weather pleasure - it won't be long before the cool, nasty stuff comes back anyway!
