  1. 26.2c... still clear & sunny! Cloud will increase in afternoon by looks of it but that won't stop the heat - it'll just keep it in this evening!
  2. In heatwaves the best time is always evenings - but that suits me as I have 7 evenings per week to enjoy but only 2 daytimes per week I can use. Would prefer a too hot day to a too chilly evening (like most of the year) anytime! Like the change of feel to things too - it isn't often in the UK you need to try to keep cool rather than try to keep warm so the contrast in itself is interesting.
  3. Yep I like the heat because its extreme and unusual. Dec 2010 was extremely cold and people on here wanted it to get colder - same thing! Just minutes off 26c...
  4. 25.4c already here! Not even 10am yet - a real proper hot day and something I've not experienced in many years in the UK. 30c surely today if not higher!
  5. His website works a lot better on Internet Explorer than on other browsers as I think it was made in MS Word - not exactly the best web authoring tool - but does the job! Lovely warm evening - still over 22c at 10pm. So nice being free to wear not alot with everything all wide open - got a nice fragrant breeze coming in the window next to me right now. This is just how summer should be!
  6. Temps rising again here so fairly convinced the cool house air affected the sensor. House went up from 22.5c to 23.9c and outside now 25.2c rising.
  7. 26.7c max dew point 13c. Now seem to be dropping but not sure if that's because I've opened my windows and the sensor is right to the window so the cooler house air could be interfering.
  8. Outside: 26.3c Office: 27.5c Living room: 22.5c (will rise when I get home and get some windows open) Very hazy today and feeling very humid too.
  9. Got heavier here too but doesn't seem to be slowing the temperature rise at all. The NEly breeze that we've finally lost is the usual culprit for that.
  10. Sky certainly not blue in colour today - very hazy indeed thus humid. Temps still rising fast and much faster than any other day since Sunday - currently 24.5c so should get our 4th >25c day of the year today. Hopefully our second >27c day too! A very warm night ahead with mins of 18c predicted. We'll be fine in my place- at last a use for its coolness!
  11. But we've seen a lot of low cloud this week and cool breezes even this far inland so it isn't quite warm enough just yet... Does look good for us easterners finally for a time and I for one hope we see the models downgrade any more NEly winds as they've frequently spoilt a lot of days this summer.
  12. All clear here now - currently 20.1c rising fast. Can see a hot day is inbound!
  13. I think this cloud is well on the way out with temps up 1c in the 20 mins it took to get to work and the sun shining - albeit through haze. 30-60 mins it'll be clear I think.
  14. -10c was 'excessive' in Dec 2010 especially when you cycle to work in it each day like me - but still it was interesting & to be enjoyed as its an extreme.... 12.9c overnight so not exactly a warm night. Starting with low cloud thinning but looking at the sat pics looks like you lucky buggers in the south are getting the finest North Sea junk to start your day whilst the usual sufferers (here & NE England) are clearing! 16c so far so 11c to gain to hit todays predictions - will we make it this time?
  15. Yes hope it moves a bit to the east as temperatures have been nothing special or in fact just average half the time. Long overdue some real 30c+ heat now!
  16. Lovely sunny day albeit only average in temperature (21.4c). Looks like its finally time for some heat to arrive in this location over the next few days!
  17. 21.4c max at the moment so 1c warmer than yesterday - and of course much sunnier. Don't like the look of all that cloud sat out in the North Sea - don't want anymore of that this week!
  18. 20.4c max so far - same as yesterday although today feels better without the slate grey skies.
  19. Still only 18.8c here - but clear skies. I don't mind a cooler blip if its a sunny blip - unlike yesterday!
  20. BBC only gives us 26c tmw & 27c Sat - doesn't seem like 'heatwave' conditions to me? Especially after two cooler days before it (yesterday/today). Sky finally cleared here - glorious albeit not that warm at only 17.3c so far.
  21. Currently low cloud trying to thin with odd glimmer of sun. 14.6c so feeling chilly after 13.5c min (gladly no 11c as predicted!). Working from home today and the damn place has fallen back into the teens again. Hopefully this fleeting sun will warm it up a bit.
  22. Fantastic looking runs with great synoptics. Just hoping we (and the rest of us poor buggers in the east) now start getting what everyone else has been getting heat wise! My max figures: Thu: 23.9c Fri: 22.7c Sat: 25.3c Sun: 27.1c Mon: 21.6c Tue: 25.3c Wed: 20.7c So (contrary to my earlier figures which I did from memory): >25c 3 days (Sat,Sun,Tue) >27c 1 day (Sun) Nice & warm yes - but not really 'heatwave' category here.
  23. 13c min is average here I believe. It isn't unusual but pepper plants don't like it below 15c - they just drop flowers & hardly fruit if at all. Keeping my eye on it this year and heating the greenhouse on chilly nights. This spell here: >25c - 4 days (Fri, Sat, Sun, Tues) >27c - 1 day (Sun 27.1c)
  24. Such a narrow range of temperatures today - from 16.6c min to 20.4c max thanks to the cloud cover. Cloud is making it feel a nice evening actually as still 18.8c. Forecast is for it to fall as skies clear later (why o why must they clear at night!) so might turn cooler with BBC going for 11c - hope not that'd kill my pepper flowers dead!
  25. This cooler, cloudier spell was predicted right from last weekend so it isn't _quite_ so annoying. Trouble with low cloud is it can often form and roll in unexpectedly totally changing forecasts in a matter of hours. Monday was a prime example of this. Forecasts were still 24-25c and sunny Monday morning yet it clouded up a lot and we got 21c max. This does cause quite some frustration as frequently these situations arise on the back of what could be top notch weather and in fact only a matter of miles away it IS top notch weather! I make no secret of it winding me right up
